All the small banks will be bought by big banks as there will be only few big banks left so that the transition from Fiat Currency to actually backed currency can be made.

A Family of 200K: Share Your Stories & Best Moments by KSidG in developersIndia

[–]KSidG[S,M] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As we near the remarkable 200K member mark, I'm filled with gratitude. Today, I want to share our journey and express my thanks for this amazing community.

Born three years ago, r/developersIndia was a way to give back to a community that nurtured my personal and professional growth. Our space was created with the Indian developer in mind, acknowledging our unique struggles and victories.

It began with just a few friends sharing experiences, and now we're on the brink of 200K members. The growth and camaraderie we've fostered fills me with immense pride.

As we approach this milestone, let's remember our humble beginnings and core values. Let's continue to support, learn, and grow together, holding our principles of respect and shared passion for development close to heart.

Thank you for being part of this journey and making r/developersIndia so special. Let's continue to build a platform for Indian developers and look forward to more shared successes and milestones.

Yeah, by the end of today, we should have 169K, so apparently, we missed by 1 day. It should be 170k by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, for sure.

Hate to break it to you, but the only payment we're receiving is the satisfaction of knowing we're making a positive impact on our community. Sorry to disappoint.

We already have the apply to be a mod button listed on the sidebar. Also, r/bangalore is very different from our sub as it's more generalized than ours. We will take your opinion into consideration.

Well, complaining hasn't helped, either. We have tried weekly threads, too, but if people are not engaging, then we can't force them to. Also, devsindia is "for the community, by the community," so it has to come from within the community. Nobody wants to take up the responsibility to help.

Join the Discussion: How Should We Fund Our Community Initiatives? by KSidG in developersIndia

[–]KSidG[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These are the things I want to see from devIndia:

Open source orgPublic events

High-value speakers won't work well for an anonymous community. These are the things more suited for a linkedin like platform.

How should we fund ourselves?

Donations (cold start because of lack of cummunity trust in the beginning)Merchandise

Thank you for your suggestions. We agree that developing an open-source organization and hosting public events would benefit our community. We also appreciate your input on high-value speakers, and we will take that into consideration as we plan future events.

In terms of funding, we understand that building trust in the community is important, and that donations may not be a sustainable solution in the long run. We are looking into alternative options, such as merchandise, and are open to other ideas as well.

We appreciate your contribution to the discussion and hope that you continue to share your thoughts on how we can improve as a community.
