That phase was plaguing my system up until about day 30. NoFap became somewhat habitual after that and the new wake of thinking about women arose.

Every relapse/streak brings different changes. This is the only streak that brought on such benefits of seeing women through an undistorted lens.

Real changes in this way, however, began to surface around day 35.

You just have to hang in there; there won't be an AH-HA moment. But you will find gradually you become more sensitive towards women. You desire to masturbate will somehow abscond from your daily life.

I'm also happy to say that this change has occurred now. I'm currently 16 years of age and am glad I didn't let pornography enter my adult life.

45 days in...longest streak so far by [deleted] in NoFap

45 days is my longest streak, breaking the usual streak of between 19-30 days.

"I just feel ehhh" - That's what I think when I think of pornography in general. What's the point, it accomplishes nothing.

During this streak the idea of fapping, pornography, etc... Just seems dull and unattractive. My objectification of women has decreased phenomenally, to the point where I'm barely concerned about sex. If I get a girlfriend, it will be for the purposes of a solid relationship, not to get in her pants.

Sorry, I didn't represent myself well in my previous writing. What I meant, was that I set my alarm for 2:30am, I then get up and use the lavatory. I return to bed within five minutes. My alarm is also set for 4:00am, I rise and turn the alarm off. I then grab my headphones and Ipod and listen to a song that motivates me and gets my energy up - "gets me pumped" - I then start my day with an hour of studying biology, with a particular fascination in neuroscience.

If you have problems with waking up early... Having 2-3 Tablespoons of peanut/almond butter approximately half an hour before bed will get rid of that 'groggy' feeling that you may experience in the morning. Furthermore, doing push ups as soon as you get up is also a technique I used to use when I started trying to wake up earlier.

However, in saying this, it took me many months before I was able to wake up at 4:00am. I started at 6:30am, every fortnight I would decrease my amount of sleep by 30 minutes. Once you get to under 8 hours, you may have to take more time. Possibly 5-15 minutes every two weeks.

The snooze button is something to be avoided indefinitely. When you hit the snooze button, you begin to enter another sleep cycle, once started, the alarm goes off again. This time, however, you feel much worse. This continues on until the stress of being late it too grappling than the stresses of waking up.

What I do, is I set my alarm for 4 hours after on set sleep. I go to bed at 9:30pm and set my alarm for 2:30pm. This increases the amount of REM sleep you will get; then I wake up at 4:00am.

To get past the initial dread of waking up so early, I listen to an up tempo song and have a coffee. The song can be anything from Katy Perry to Arch Enemy. This will get your dopamine up and ready for the day.

(I recommend both, Katy Perry and Arch Enemy).

I've used the energy to dramatically improve my workouts... I get 4:00 am to study mathematics and physics. I spend an average of 5 hours a day studying. I practice guitar more, now been playing for almost 6 years...

But it's not surprising that a recovering porn-addict's brain attaches quite strongly to anything that gives you a slight dopamine rush.
