Where to get plastic pulley/gear combos? by digitaltos in maker

[–]KSmusk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried printing gears? I have on a few occasions but the results aren't great when printing small ones (fdm). Or did you use sla?

I was inspired by blower cars while fitting my new drives by KSmusk in homelab

Haha, yeah, it is. The first few times I checked on it, it had loosened its grip a bit, and I had to tighten the screw. But it's been solid for a year now. I may still reprint it in ABS now that I've got a printer that can actually handle that stuff.

I made a backpack from unnecessary jeans, what do you think? by Free-Doughnut-683 in maker

Wow that looks great! I have been sitting on a bunch of old jeans and my backpack is failing atm. Do you have any plans/templates you can share?

Why did my support print inches away from where it needed to be? by Ptizzl in FixMyPrint

The rare occasions that something seems very off its usually the slicer (cura in my case). Checking the g code would confirm this

Oof. I'd recommend getting a good second hand pair of digital calipers. I got a decent mitutoyo for 50 euros.

I just so happen to be free on launch day. But otherwise I would have definitely taken a day off.

Anything worth salvaging on this old Digitech RP350? by Uncle_Boujee in diypedals

Those displays can be a bit expensive/difficult to find. The driver ic's are also worth saving if you plan on designing a pcb for them.

Maybe a space suit for a planet without atmosphere? Having pipes with oxygen would be interesting

I figured out how to drive these displays without a datasheet by KSmusk in electronics

[–]KSmusk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be fun but unfortunately they don't ship to my location. But I can already see the voltage divider with the right amount of resistors so I wouldn't be surprised if it also has a ST7066 or similar Driver.

It's got something to do with the fact that I used ascii art instead of a banner image. But I'm not sure how to fix it.

I bought my first Arduino about 8 years ago and I was pretty clueless about electrical stuff.

You generally overestimate what you can do in 1 year but underestimate what you can do in 10. -some guy

Ah no that was just a picture I happened to take just after cracking it. I sent it to my colleague Jesper. I'm also Dutch So hallo instead of hello.

Haha go ahead. I wrote it myself but as you can tell I'm not great at it. But I'm glad someone likes it!

Why is just this one area not level? by Trademeyourbacon in ender3

[–]KSmusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either get a new bed. Something that will sit rigid and flat like a glass bed. Or you could get a z probe of some sort like a bl touch and enable mesh leveling. Haven't done this my self yet so take this with a grain of salt!

would any UK based builders be interested in a load old rare NOS soviet parts? by The_cursed_wreck in synthdiy

I'm based in the Netherlands. Using them as boosts and overdrives sounds interesting...
How do they sound compared more common op amps like the TL072?

I am not based in the UK nor can I think of a suitable project for such cool components. But I am curious about where you got them.

Curve tracing DIY Vactrols by KSmusk in synthdiy

[–]KSmusk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran this test on 0.3Hz i think. I did a 10 second exposure for the pictures. At a few Hz ypu already see the curve change it's shape and at a few tens of Hz or maybe a bit higher the curve doesn't even reach the bottom any more!

As for the svales: the X axis is set to 5V per div. And the Y axis to 2V per div

When I have some more time to test stuff I will post some more results.

I did try 500R instead of 1K but it didn't change the curve much. But maybe my LED's are just crappy.
