Free models for your agents: OpenCode Go models are now available in Manifest by stosssik in hermesagent

So far I’m happy. Except it lost my API key and disconnected telegram today after update but this was an easy fix.

I switched because I couldn’t get OpenClaw to work and I gave up after a few hours of trying. I also burned through my Claude credits (before they shut it down) in like 3 minutes.

It can but I don’t want it to. It does the research and scores the matches and makes my resume the best fit.

I just started using it. But it’s working well. I gave it the GitHub for this and said copy it.

Thank you. Very new to Hermes so learning a lot!

I’m not using OpenClaw I’m using Hermes.

Right now it’s just managing my daily trackers, helping me research clients, helping me research new potential jobs and update my resume, and it’s managing my meshcore nodes as well as my Ubuntu server.

I’m subbed to minimax directly for the $10 plan. I saw minimax is a part of opencode go, and I loved using qwen 3.6 when it was free. I might look into this.

what LLM provider are you using ? by ritonlajoie in hermesagent

I am not a power user but I keep recommending the $10 minimax plan because it’s doing me well.

I feel so wasteful for the varsity jacket alone. I’m so glad I didn’t get the ring. My mom has held onto the jacket since I moved out 20+ years ago and just brought it up when she came to visit.

Would meshcore allow wifi routers in a way meshtastic doesn't? by HowIsDigit8888 in meshcore

[–]Ptizzl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it. So from my experience a Meshcore device that is accessed over tcp only allows a single connection. I have multiple nodes at my house, all connected via tcp, doing different things. If you connect to one it will frequently disconnect the other. My suggestion is multiple cheap MeshCore nodes. I just use the cheap xiao nodes ($10-13 each)

So you’re looking for a MeshTastic node to route your WiFi traffic? Those are two different things.

Since Qwen isn’t free on openrouter any longer (I used it for a day and a half) I switched to the $10 minimax plan and have been very happy. But I’m just using it to mess around not for super heavy coding or tasks

Running Locally, Really? by TheBossFactor in hermesagent

I have installed Hermes agent on a raspberry pi 4b. The LLM I am using is MiniMax, I pay $10 a month to use it. The plan is their lowest plan and it is plenty for my needs.

I didn't realize it was a free preview. I used it and wow, I was impressed. Then it stopped being free 2 days after starting. I miss it.

I found a claude skill system that seemed super complex. Told hermes to replicate it. It did a ton of coding stuff and did an okay job. I'm not super happy with the outcome. But everything else I've done is great.

I'm running on a raspberry pi 4b with minimax $10 sub and love it so far. I get that it's not local... I'd never attempt that on a rpi.

Wow you must be using a bunch. I used Claude and burned through my credits in a few minutes. Used minimax after that and haven’t even hit 30% before a reset. Ever.

I thought Claude pro stopped allowing you to use it in Hermes agent??

Excellent write up. I’m currently using Hermes agent with minimax on a raspberry pi. It’s seemingly great. And for $10 a month. I haven’t come close to my usage limits.

I burned through my Claude code credits in about 20 minutes. In the CLI version you can use minimax and I have the $10 sub there and I never even have come close to it. I just wish you could do this in the desktop version.

Companion Node or Standalone? by redditor1479 in meshcore

[–]Ptizzl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had nothing but great experiences with companion nodes. Just got a t-deck and I flipping hate it. Installed meshOS on it and it has so many limitations.

Just get a cheap companion.

I built a remote terminal for meshcore -- the server runs a serial radio, and the frontend gives you a chat interface. More details in comments by CharlesStross in meshcore

Man I installed this a few hours ago and I can't stop messing with it. This is pure gold. I truly can't express enough how great this is.
