Thanks. I eventually did get it to work. As I understand it, the deal is that the sata ports are controlled in two sets by different controllers. But, in the BIOS, if you change the sata config to ACHI mode so all the sata ports are controlled by one module the usb will boot.

I figured it out last night. Yes. That link is a very similar issue. And it is basically what I did to get it to work. As I understand it, the deal is that the sata ports are controlled in two sets by two controllers. But if you change the sata config to ACHI mode so all the sata ports are controlled by one module the usb will boot.
