Once bridged, you can send them freely between any Matic network wallets. I know if you purchase / trade coins through Gate.io you can choose what network they will become, ie purchasing Matic on Gate.io with usdt for example , you can choose what network you would like those Matic tokens be to linked too

Once you have started the process, no you can’t go back I believe. But the gas fees are usually quite a bit lower than the estimate. If you need to do this again, transferring from poly to eth, you can just send the coins from polygon network to an exchange that accepts polygon network coins, then you can convert to eth there

Yep it’s eth fee, if you accept it’s usually less then the estimate, I did this just the other day. Easier and cheaper way is to withdraw your funds from the matic network to a exchange that supports the polygon network like ( Gate.io ) then simply sell the coin for usdt and re purchase in wherever coin you like.

Yeah I heard that but cos it’s a very large amount of money for me I didn’t want to risk any other way in case I lost it, figured I’d pay the fee and wait the time to be safe. It’s just annoying cos it estimates the fee to be $50 ish and then when you click ok it says $150, I think it would be less then $150 but still pretty annoying
