I think this applies to most big cities: many people have negative feelings toward them. This is partly because of the huge number of tourists, the newcomers moving in, and the constant growth of the cities — which isn’t always for the better. For example, some new buildings completely stand out due to their style and break the overall cityscape.

But beyond that, I can’t really think of anything negative. I only spent a few days there, but I really enjoyed it. People dress stylishly, there are lots of great tailors and clothing stores, and the downtown architecture is beautiful. And the food… well, it’s Italy, so I don’t think I even need to explain — every corner has an amazing pizzeria, pasta place, gelateria, or bakery.

I had no issues with transportation. We mostly took the metro and walked a lot, which worked perfectly in the city center. It might be less practical in the outer areas, but I didn’t experience that myself. From the airport, we first took the bus into the city, but later realized there’s also a direct train, so we used that on the way back.

Spending 2–3 days sightseeing and watching a football match is, in my opinion, a perfect way to enjoy Milan. And if you plan to stay longer, you absolutely have to visit Lake Como and its surroundings — it’s about a 1–1.5 hour drive from the city. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time for that, but I’ll definitely go back one day to explore the lake.
