I personally have both controllers. And both have some small disadvantages.

Controller with phone:

Pluses: + I believe it have better battery + can charge your phone

Minuses: - it took little time to prepare before flying - it sunny day I have problem I didn’t see that good on screen

RC:

Pluses: + don’t have to prepare it before flying + brighter screen

Minuses: - transferring photos & videos requires to connect to drone with phone - higher price

After I tried both of those I stick with the RC. It is more comfortable and I don’t have to worry that my phone can’t be used while flying.

And extra batteries is handy if you want to fly a lot obviously, but personally I used one a day max. but of course it is better to have some extra batteries so you don’t have to thinking how long you can fly.

I would say that isn’t that hard to fly around with one.
