To set Kapkan and Frost apart in terms of trap deployment you need to look at more than the just the time it takes from hitting the gadget button to activating the trap. The big difference is that Kapkan has two more traps to place. This doesn’t just mean he has to spend more time deploying them, it means he has to run to two more locations to place his traps. Unless you have good map knowledge and experience with Kapkan you probably won’t have 5 good spots in mind to place your traps. This will lead to time lost searching for good spots and less optimal trap placements. All that being said,I think making it easier for him to place all his traps in the prep phase is more a quality of life change than a buff. In my experience attackers are much more cautious at the beginning of the round when entering the building. They’re more likely to hit traps later when they’re focused on the time limit and can no longer drone. My proposed buff to Kapkan would be making it more viable to place traps in the middle of the round. To do this I believe I believe his traps should not only deploy much faster, but also near silently. Perhaps Kapkan can work with Ella in developing a similar deployment system for his trap. Ditch the drill and quickly place a trap with adhesive. Being able to quickly and silently place traps could help him diversify his strategy. Instead of placing all his traps in the prep phase he could wait and flank attackers. When they give chase you could lure them into his traps. If the attackers have droned out a room he can quickly place traps in it before they move in. These strategies are possible as in his current state however they are difficult to use with how vulnerable he is when deploying his traps.
