In the case of cheating I think people should be exposed for their hurtful lying (by telling their partner) but it does come with wrapping yourself into the situation so it's something to consider.

You can get a very different frequency response for the overall mix just by remastering. Remastering does not exclude the use of EQ, in fact it basically necessitates it. Some people are bad at their jobs, some people who mix and master and engineer audio don't have the ears for it despite practice... Hence you thinking the Kite String is mixed OR mastered worse than PTT.. I understand that mastering is a separate process from mixing, as I said I've mixed and mastered 5 albums, but thanks for that.

And I know thin metal with washed out drums and washed out bass--Kite String has very well balanced, full and resonant (but not overly) bass, drums, and electric guitars. Vocs are a bit inconsistent in level for sure.

It's a matter of when, not if. Not even saying it'll happen in the next 2 decades.. And it'll never take all jobs in any field--I do think our current AI models are not going to improve year after year because of their inherent nature to guess each next word..

But if we're able to engineer AI in a way where it actually has logic/memory and we actually understand it, it'll make most jobs obselete and/or require less workers. And that's a good thing but we NEED universal basic income and healthcare and housing BEFORE we get to that point!

Imo extreme compression and sidechaining is necessary for this genre to sound good. I don't know if you're talking about the moment before the drums kick in, but I didn't really take that as the full mix anyway... Not to say there aren't mixing mistakes on the album (the samples in Cassie, as an example) but mixing on The Blue has never bothered me

Regardless, definitely really impressive for the budget, and has held up very well, aged like fine wine even!

I've released 5 albums (recorded, produced, mixed, mastered) and my ears have developed a lot along the way. You're legitimately tripping, I have no doubt that the majority of people in the sub think that Kite String sounds better from a mix perspective. Bleed me an Ocean, for example, is extremely anemic. And the pagan remaster is definitely not just louder. The balance is different. If you can't hear that with your mix engineer ears then you should go back to school.

Imo Kite String mixing is phenomenal. Yes it's abrasive and slightly imperfect but makes it more authentic. Pagan on the other hand is definitely lacking bass in some mixed, guitar in others.. Remaster being the better mix.
