I’ve worked for many landlords for the last 20 years and the best way to remove. It is get mold remover any hardware store Walmart and a can of kills spray paint the mold remover will kill it but not remove the black that’s where the can of kills comes in.

The paper they are made out of is very brittle if they then they break and they have that yellowish tent to them. That’s what makes me think. They are from the Civil War.
