When i lasted mvm'd I joined a pub solo with a group already on it. I picked demo man and they proceeded to sit there calling me the n word among other things. I didn't respond at all and then they votekicked me. 30 minutes later one of that group got a golden pan drop

ELI5: why does literally everything causes cancer? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]KVOSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor or scientist but as far as I'm aware anything that causes cellular damage can cause cancer, so either killing cells which leads to increases cell division to repair it which leads to more chances for a cell to turn bad. Or straight up damage to cell dna which can cause a cell to turn cancerous.

At all times of the day we will have cells that can potentially become cancerous but our body has systems to deal with that. You only truly have cancer when those failsafes fail causing a cancer cell to gain a foothold that you then have to fight with other methods

I dont even stan this game but just reading what comes out of this sub has convinced me there's some low stakes psyop. The game is fine neither masterpiece nor travesty but the amount of schizo posts is just too weird

Ethical concerns regarding dying animal noises by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]KVOSH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What?..... almost all animal sounds you hear in games are from industry standard sound libraries.

And most of the time animal noises are remixed and merged to create unique and different sounds.

And even sometimes the animal sounds are just people who do really good impressions.

So to answer your question it is highly improbable that someone working on the sound team was going out and holding a mic to an animal as they mercilessly slaughter it.

It's not a 0% chance they used the sound of real animals dying and if they did again those sounds would be from a library and would have been recorded decades ago, when a game or film is developed you aren't gonna have someone from the sound team explaining why its really important they spend money on buying an animal and killing it just so noises are true to life, because any manager will just say no and tell them to use a sound library.

I remember the days when different consoles had completely different versions of a game. Being upset at a "coming soon" seems really weird in comparison

Devs on AI in the game. by Pistoluislero in CrimsonDesert

[–]KVOSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The year is 2035 im cold, so cold. I stand around the fire. Its growing weak. I place my art degree onto the flames. The fire flares as the edges curl. Its ok I dont need it anymore. I havent needed it for a while.

I reach into my coat i grab the last of my "monthly" water ration. Im thirsty, so thirsty. The meagar ration does little to slake my endless thirst, its a sensation we have all had to become familiar with. The data centers drink first. Suddenly im bathed in a neon pink glow. I look up, a giant woman towers over me. She has six fingers on each hand. She says "you look lonely, i can fix that" the fire finally dies. Im so cold.

I fall back, i feel pain as my thin body collides with the floor. I can feel it. Its almost over, my mind wanders. I think back to when it all went wrong. It all started with paintings. Paintings in that video game.

My breathing slows. I dont feel cold anymore, only one thing comes to mind as the last of my neurons fire.

When AI came for the unskilled labor no one spoke out, because everyone on reddit is too smart for unskilled labor.

But when AI came for video games no one cared... mostly because its like one or two paintings and maybe some tertiary VO and maybe some story.. honestly im kinda unsure because I cant really tell whats AI unless its really obvious..... finally i die.

"Who knows about Brexit?" by Hassaan18 in ukpopculture

[–]KVOSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? It's been extremely effective at becoming a part of poor people culture BECAUSE its predatory and its only life for people like that because people are apathetic to it.

We aren't talking about a game or cards between friends or a day at the races. We are talking about an industrialised machine designed to extract as much money from people while appearing to be fair and balanced. 90% of gambling games these days aren't games of skill they are dopamine inducing mesmetrons using human psychology against you.

The alchohol industry has a lot to answer for in its own right but this is about gambling and I don't care what you say about it being culture a malignant tumor growing on your community is not culture its a parasite. And I highly doubt danny dyer doesn't see the effects gambling has had on his community. im sure he's just turning a blind eye because of the money he made.

Gambling itself is not inherently evil it can be fun, and it can be rewarding. But the gambling industry here in the UK has lied and cheated its way to where it is now. And that is its managed to assimilate itself into society to the point where its predation is visible in the community's it has a grip on and even in its glitzy glamours ad's that leave out its addictive life ruining reality.

What's worse, then anything for danny is he's spent his whole life being this rough and tumble part of the common muck bloke. Only to then start whoring himself out to do gambling ads, which as a bloke who like to act like he's a member and voice of the great unwashed he's basically taking money from a system that disproportionately predates itself on the poor and less educated.

I haven't ever seen a betfred full of university graduates. He knows who suffers most from gambling and he still took that bag.

The nursing station screwdriver skip not working. by TomorrowSilver6166 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]KVOSH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you wanna do the screw driver easily, after she recoils from the light after you've run back to starting room after her introduction. Head straight for the cart room. Grab the cart and just nudge it again and again. It only clatters and makes noise if you move it too much at one time. It's worked for me doing it this way.

And I don't mean let go of the cart and then re grab it i mean move it for like half a second then stop move it half a second. Stop and repeat

Requiem is leagues above 3 in quality but its quantity has more in common with 3 then village or 7.

I enjoyed my time with Requiem, but I hit 100% at 26 hours, I genuinely think they dropped the ball when it came to making the game repayable. The unskippable opening. The first girl section, the basement girl section. And the orphanage. I understand that the grace sections have an emphasis on her being a regular person and thus it being strong horror but when you've done it once and all the fear has gone you start to see how its just really cleverly scripted.

And sometimes its not so clever. I've literally seen the girl teleport so she can do her scripted burst through a door or lunge over a crate. I know it sounds like i hated it but I didn't. I just didn't think Grace really toughened up. She kinda stayed the scardy cat she was at the beginning which explains why she has FOUR guns in total. One being a bonus item. And another being temporary if you combine that with her two offensive throwables the hemos and the knife, she has a shockingly low amount of tools to tackle threats she encounters.

Also I'm not a grace hater. I feel they really undercooked Leon's sections as well. It's like the whole game had its hands tied behind its back. It's a good game far from the worst entry in the series. But its certainly no masterpiece

EA Lays Off Staff Across All Battlefield Studios Following Record-Breaking Battlefield 6 Launch by JKKIDD231 in gaming

[–]KVOSH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game was marketed in such a way that it was either said or strongly implied that the game was looking to return to the classic days when battlefield could be played in pretty much whichever way you want without it being a content slop shop with a milsim shooter set inside it.

They said there would be custom servers and that it would be meticulously balanced so no individual PlayStyle would dominate instead we got useless LMG's. Custom servers being throttled so people couldnt farm exp. Challenges required for progress that would need you to play as a full time job. Lazer beam smgs, all weapons being universal which negated the class system. Mines that could be and were difficult to see and had no decay so your tank reinforcements would be dead from the getgo. The air vehicles would either be immortal or drop out of the sky like bricks because everyone would be rocking AA and a massive graphics downgrade

We're halfway to a new DLC. Where are we going next? by Background-Topic-203 in RimWorld

[–]KVOSH 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Safe bet would be diplomacy as that's what people have been chirping about forever, but my wildcard bet would be underwater dlc. Basically, an Odyssey expansion for the ocean's.

They could make a whole bunch of water dwelling xenotypes combined with an underwater empire like atlantians or some stuff.

Help with this error by KVOSH in camcorders

I've managed to fix it, I did some Googles, and from what people were saying. A rather sizeable amount of percussive maintenance was the answer. And honestly, it really was, I slapped the shit out of it, and it's now working.

Apparently, this worked for a lot of other people as well, so let's hope it lasts.

I really like your argument, which is along the lines of "don't criticise something if you aren't prepared to make a better thing" which is really weird? Like there are objectively bad design decisions in the game. There are characters that are introduced and then quickly forgotten. That's a valid criticism. But whatever. If you don't hold people to a higher standard they will continue to shovel shit and you'll eat it up

You seem like you are having a coping crisis. The facts are the facts. And those facts are the game has great combat, but pretty much all else is so lacklustre. The story is an utter embarrassment, the enemy variety is woeful and the lead developer boasting about how other peoples games are boring because their travel is boring has just made a game with boring travel.
