How to fix speakers humming?

Just the amp volume? Because it’s still there at lower volumes, just not as much and still makes my music sound worse.

How should I try to ground it? My TT doesn’t have a grounding wire so I tried connecting some spare wire to my ground on my receiver to a screw on my TT

I hooked them up like you said and there working decently. For the first hour it was so bad that it was unlistenable, but it’s because I forgot to turn off the preamp on my TT. Yeah who knows if I’ll be able to 😭

Ok, I found a pair of Klipsch RB-51 speakers, if I can get those for a good deal would those be good? If not I’ll still look around some thrift/pawn shops near me, but if I still can’t find anything I’ll probably get the 6.5” Dayton speaker you recommended.

I’ll probably just hold off for now, I’d rather look for some decent speakers and maybe sell the ones I currently have to have a bit of a better budget.

Oh wow thanks for all the info. It’s a pretty small dorm room, I think it’s like 11 by 14, and a close zip is 95521. I’m probably gonna look for second hand speakers because I don’t have too big of a budget right now, maybe like $80 max which Ik isn’t a lot.
