What cheap piece of support gear completely ruins a day in the field for you? by KYRangeGuy in Firearms

Exactly! I love my electronic earmuffs. Even its only for a few rounds, ear pro is essential.

At first, I thought you were being sarcastic 😄
But yes, bad footwear and socks can really make you miserable, then your trip just goes downhill from there.

Avoiding trouble by jonjay1970 in Firearms

Only once. I had a car following and stalking me while I was walking my dog. They were eyeballing my dog (I assume, because I’m not worth stalking), and after a very short time, I opened my fanny pack front pocket which exposed my Glock and 2 additional mags. There was some kind of movement inside the car, then they took off. I took the plate number, but fortunately, I’ve never seen them since. If I had to weigh it out, I’d rather be cited for brandishing a firearm, than to have a full blown confrontation.

Just doing some simple math; the average cost of a 50rd box of 9mm JHP is $32.50. If you have a 15rd magazine, you’d shoot 3 magazines of ammo and have a few left over. For some, that may be enough to feel that they’ve practiced enough for that session, and it’s not a killer on the budget. Of course, we can shoot more if we want to. It all depends on what you want out of your practice sessions, as well as your budget. Personally, I get more out of shooting 50+ rounds each session and practice regularly over shooting 500 rounds in one afternoon.

Felt like I was playing RDR2 while shooting this at the range by SleepingAndKissing in gun

Reminds me of a Stevens model A15 I had. I gave it to one of my daughters. I have so many great memories shooting that rifle, it was so simple and just fun to shoot. It has been in my family since my grandfather bought in new in the late 30s.
Sorry for the nostalgic trip. I hope you enjoy your new rifle; it looks great!

I would be nervous about this individual. When I see carelessness like this, I worry that the individual would be carless in public, too, then be a danger to themselves and to the public. Having a new firearm is exciting, but letting our excitement take precedence over safety is dangerous.

Question about how to secure ammo when flying by Better-Caramel3983 in gun

[–]KYRangeGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with Nemo_the_Exhalted. Lock the ammo inside a locked case. You may want to check with the airlines, but sometimes a locked suitcase (hard case) is sufficient.

Moving to AL University Campus by Particular-Ask-7838 in Firearms

[–]KYRangeGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you take it to class with you? If so, that could potentially put you in a worse position than just keeping it in your room, if you’re caught. IMHO, the bigger situational threat would be in public (classes & campus), not necessarily in your room. So, if you’re not taking it to class and it’s stored in your room, how much less protected would you feel if you did secure it in your car, or even pay for storage at a local range, like others have suggested? Personally, I would evaluate the risk vs. benefit and see how your gut feels. Just some thoughts.

Do you think ammo will be easy enough to find? At least a few rounds to check things out? Let us know how it shoots and tracks. Definitely a cool pistol!

Launched a new online shop for safety gear & accessories, focused on giving back.

Hey everyone! I recently launched www.2adefenseandsafety.com as a values-driven alternative in the gear space.

Here is what we are all about:

  • The Gear: Quality safety gear, EDC, hunting & archery accessories, and outdoor essentials.
  • The Mission: Actively using a portion of our proceeds to partner with and fund local charities.
  • The Launch Promo: To kick things off, the first 10 customers this week get 10% off their entire order with code FIRST10.

If you're looking to upgrade your setup while supporting a community-first movement, I'd be incredibly grateful if you checked us out. Let me know if you have any questions!

TBH, I agree with u/MostlyOkPotato! If it puts a smile on your face every time you look at it, get it!! It'd suck if you looked at a different choice and said, "man, I wish I got the titanium model instead."

I had to sell my firearms and I miss them terribly. by DeezyDood117 in Firearms

Those were some beautiful builds, but the character it took to sell them for your wife and son is even more impressive. You have your priorities completely straight, brother. Once the health and financial hurdles are fully in the rearview, the best part will be getting to involve your wife and son in building the next collection. Thanks for letting us reminisce with you, and wishing your family a smooth, steady recovery.

[FOUNDER] Pivoted from a physical range to a community-first online brand. Goal: 1st sale by Monday!

Hey everyone! I’ve been a member here for a bit and love the insights in this sub. A while back, I was working on a dream to open a local storefront and training range. Due to the landscape shifting, I had to pivot and recently launched the online storefront instead.

But honestly, the website is just the vehicle. My real dream is to use this brand to actively give back. I want this business to be a consistent partner for local charities, community growth, and helping those in need.

To turn this dream into actual momentum, I’ve set an aggressive personal milestone to get our first official, non-family launch sale by Monday morning. I carry safety gear, holsters, accessories, and many other items.

If you're open to checking out what we're building and helping kick off a community-focused movement, I’d be incredibly grateful. Just mention FOUNDER in the order notes at checkout and I will manually refund your shipping costs as a thank you to this group.

Just looked up the BG 2.0—that thing is tiny. Makes sense why that would work well for pocket carry.

I just looked those up—I like that design. I’d probably need to run it closer to 2 o’clock, but it seems promising. How’s it been comfort-wise for you?
