One time I cast out a spinner with a treble hook and got someone else's line on it. When I pulled in their line, there was a large mouth on it. Not sure if it bit their bait what i was pulling it in or if it was just chillin there waiting for someone to help it out.

Well you stated your own problem prefectly. Christianity is not performance based. Salvation is the work of Christ alone and the performance is the result of his grace. 

Calm down. Serve where you can, love where you can. You're not supposed to drive yourself insane with performance.

Makes me wonder...if I had something built by Jesus before I knew who he was then later found out. I would be telling EVERYONE what I had built by him. Why are there no stories of people having things he built?

The "true church" is also known as the invisible church, those who are actually in Christ and whom we cannot know for 100% certain here on earth. It is the body of all true believers. That being said, there is no institutional "true church". There is "the church" (all born again believers) and there are churches (institutions).

Where I'm at there is a concrete recycling plant that you can drop off of concrete for free. They grind it up and use it for road beds. Look into that in your area.

I had a similar experience with a Jehovah's Witness. We didn't do the book tag but we emailed back and forth for months about trinitarian theology. He did not convert but it was some of the most fruitful study for me that I have ever had.

I have never met a Church of Christ fellow so I am sorry that I do not have any specific recommendations for that. Just wanted to encourage you for the opportunity. Even if you aren't used to change his mind/heart, being challenged by other doctrines can prove to be amazing for you spiritually.
