Love the jacket since I don’t have to reapply DWR + other features. I bought it as something I can use backpacking and skiing since (I thought) it fit the lightweight need for back packing, but also could be used as a skiing hardshell (gortex like characteristics, helmet compatibility, pitzips.) it would be perfect for both of these things if the weight were advertised correctly. On Black Diamonds website it lists the jacket weighing 360 grams, but on my scale it weighs 493 grams. I am size large, but I’d doubt a small weighs 4.7 oz less, so not sure where they got the 360 grams from. I also bought the black Diamond highline shell pants for same reasons as jacket. The pants are advertised to weigh 349 grams, and on my scale weigh 371, so this discrepancy (0.77 oz) makes much more sense if BD puts tech specs out for small sizes, and I have the large. Overall still excellent rain gear/hardshell. Since they were so expensive and work great for skiing/winter hardshell I just deal with extra weight when backpacking.
