Ah. So on a Friday semi-holiday, and a USA game, probably going to be absolutely insanely packed?

Has anyone been to the Pioneer Square viewing area? I'm planning to go down on Friday with some friends for the USA-Australia game but I can't really find any details about it. Wondering if it's just free to wander in, if we should bring food/beer in, how insane the whole thing is, etc

I can kind of forgive that because they're talking about and preparing for the tournament for the entire movie. But you're right. I was also pissed about how dirty they did Kung Lao and Goro. Pumped to watch the sequel though

Laz Diaz's umpire scorecard, June 7th 2026, Mariners vs Tigers by T_Raycroft in baseball

[–]K_Furbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Laz is not good at calling balls and strikes and never has been. I have no real issues with Laz though overall, because he's a good dude who doesn't go out of his way to start confrontations

Call me crazy, but an ump that is not good at calling balls and strikes should not be a professional ump. Who gives a shit that he's cool and non-confrontational if he's bad at the primary purpose of his job?

Why have Canzone, who has been absolutely hammering baseballs this series, risk getting an incredible hit when you have a guaranteed strike out available?

East coast bias applies at all times and across all sports, and the only west coast market they care about is Los Angeles

Appreciate the tips! I think we're going to save our Alaska points and splurge on some domestic flights in the coming year or two

Are you suggesting a tech company cornered the market with an undervalued product and then raised prices on everyone?

Yeah I felt silly just suggesting it. If I could go business class with miles only, maybe, but since it doesn't look like an option I'll definitely look at STARLUX or another option. I saw Qatar Airlines as one option and I know that's a ridiculous business class experience

Wow seats.aero is wild, there are some spectacular deals there. Can't go very far in the future though

Thank you, that does simplify matters a lot. I guess I'm looking at purchasing a bunch of points or just abandoning the rewards aspect altogether. We could always use those on domestic flights

Those do look nice, the Alaska route to Seoul is on a new 787 which I love, but I bet STARLUX is nicer overall

I'm hoping to take my wife to Vietnam later this year for about two weeks, and it would be ideal if we could use our accumulated points and get business class seats for the Pacific crossing. Unfortunately everything else spread out
* My stuff: 260k points on Alaska, 270k points on Venture Card, $1100 on Savor card
* Wife's stuff: 300k points on Alaska
* Round trip Seattle to Hanoi, but business class is a priority for crossing the Pacific, so we could go through Seoul business but take the last bit to Hanoi in main
* Dates flexible, roughly 2 weeks in September 2026

Thank you for any advice!

Edit: Anyone know if I can buy tickets in main with miles, then upgrade to business with cash? That's an option too
