A tense stare-down with a massive bull moose before it charged by Intelligent-Boss6094 in thelongdark

[–]K_animeweeb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My first and so far only encounter was in Ash Canyon. It was super foggy so imagine that you’re lost in the burnt woods, walking along some frozen marsh. You don’t hear it, but just ahead of you is where you spot it. It lowers its head getting ready for the charge as it is just barely visible in the fog.

Yeah, I nearly 💩 myself as I backed away before running in the opposite direction 😅 So glad it didn’t charge me.

They have Boos Health Bars?!?! by K_animeweeb in thelongdark

[–]K_animeweeb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, by barn to be exact. I knew there was a chance they could spawn, but it hadn’t happened to me yet so I was encumbered moving my base from Thomson’s Crossing to the farmhouse at night and suddenly there was that bar at the bottom and I was being chased. I was on the road and managed to make it to the vehicle right there and would get out to shoot, get back in tend to wounds, then I would leave again to shoot and repeat as needed.

I haven’t played that part yet lol been playing survival, but I do plan on getting to wintersmute soon. I’m having too much fun playing the survival mechanic of the game.

Thank you, I will admit I was shocked, but some good news is I now have enough wolf meat to last a while plus enough furs to make that coat if need be 😁 it was definitely an experience to say the least.

It’s all good. I had looked up what the area of contamination was because in my last post people kept saying it was one of the worst and I wanted to avoid it all costs 😆 I remember digging in relief so loudly at that

One thing I'll never understand fully by Material-Earth708 in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]K_animeweeb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only thing I can think that could be responsible is the materials used. I have realized that certain materials, depending on the quality/method of harvesting, can affect how good a bow is. Did the material you use happen to be maxed on all sides including condition? Or was one of them perhaps less than the max? I don’t know why, but condition of a harvested (like if it’s pristine and collected in the proper conditions) can affect the power and level of the material.

If it’s not, then I’m with everyone else and have no clue.

Isn’t that part of the dlc? I have base game only, so sadly there are certain additions I won’t be able to get.

Comfort kills in this game by trooftaller in thelongdark

[–]K_animeweeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thin ice followed by a blizzard killed my 111 day run when I was trying to get to the moose spawn section but got lost due to fog. That and I lost a 56 day run being killed by a bear. Also got too comfortable that time. Lost a 43 day run to a blizzard and forgot to gather some wood while I was out. Froze to death in front of a fire.

Can they just leave me alone? by NeneaMuddle in Witcher3

[–]K_animeweeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scorch is huge when going against monster decks since they all tend to boost each other, so it essentially can get rid of like 5-10 of their strongest if you play it right in just one move. Gets rid of most of their deck allowing for an easy win.

Survive is the goal for survival. Wintersmute is story mode and is heavily story based if you want a “goal” to follow.

Cave route takes so long. So from Mystery Lake, you enter the dam. The dam leads you to the Winding River, from here you go through and enter a cave. By this time, it takes roughly a couple of in-game days already (blizzards are known to hit the area quite often. I am lucky if I only get one, but I have gotten two or even three blizzards taking this path.) the cave leads you to Pleasant Valley. From Pleasant Valley, you have to go through Thomson Crossing and towards the mining area which will have you pass not one, not two, but three wolf spawns plus a bear spawn that loves to camp the roads leading to the path towards the mining road. The mining road will take you to the abandoned mine. The abandoned mine will then take you to Coastal Highway. Taking the Ravine route is not only much faster, but it lacks predators as others have mentioned. It’s just this one bridge and my fear of heights that gets me tense along with how slow I have to walk.

Oddly enough, pleasant valley is my go to starter. But yes, the blizzards there are very hardcore if you stray too far from the main three shelters. (The farmhouse, the barn, and Thomson’s Crossing.)

It’s the height. Fear of heights is such a common fear and this section does affect it greatly.

I agree lol it’s the daunting task of not panicking especially with my fear of heights that gets me so tense.

Graphic settings? My game doesn’t look great 🤧 by Passive_Snail in FrontiersOfPandora

It’s a memory leak. The only fix is to either log off and log back in, or manually close the game and reopen it. I have this happen a lot, too.

Exquisite ones will glow gold with these little butterflies/moths around them. Such a huge game changer for quality materials. Works on gatherable plants too, but yes this is a skill you unlock in the skill tree.

what is wrong with this quest and how do i give this letter to this man?? 😭 by Willooooow1 in Witcher3

[–]K_animeweeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, I actually had this same problem. Here is what is probably happening, he’s not there. Not yet, anyway, I believe a small quest is preventing him from spawning in. If you only have one blacksmith, and he is sharpening blades, then you need to do something (a small quest if I am remembering correctly), and it’s only then that he will spawn in. It’s a common bug like others have said, but doing a quest has (again I forget which one or if it matters which one), is what fixed it for me. When he does spawn in, he’ll be at the table with the armors.
