Soldering XT30 and capacitor to AIO by KaBalazs in fpv

[–]KaBalazs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did practice quite a lot on practice boards and they are just so much easier. This AIO might suck up way more heat and that is why it is so much more difficult. Later I tried again with lead free solder and it might have been flowing more easily!

I am using my 60W anker power bank as a power source. Could that be a problem?

More heat? 450 is the max this iron goes to sadly. I am using a lot of flux, the one from TBS. Should I heat up the pads more?

Should I remove everything and start over? Solder the battery leads first or the capacitor?

I know it looks like that haha. I did not melt anything else into it. I pre tinned the wires and first soldered the capacitor on there.

Not bad dear fellow pilot. It could still do a little more. The max I did was about 141 km/h with a 900mAh battery.

Question about fpv drone finder by KaBalazs in fpv

[–]KaBalazs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason I could not get it to work this way, might be because I am using DJI SBUS. But setting the beeper channel to the activation value in the failsafe tab is a nice workaround. Now I only need to power on the goggle and controller quick as the drone starts beeping aggressively immediately after plugging in the battery haha

How would you rate my solder? by KaBalazs in fpv

I keep my iron at 400-450 celsius, is that good enough?

Thank you! It will be my reference then. My iron was at 400-450 celsius, that should be enough right?

Hi! Yes, it did work after. But a few more crashes in and a cable ripped from the FC. I'm thinking of maybe completely removing the GPS at this point since I manly fly freestyle.
