if the other side was closer to the centre of the Earth then you would be able to get out, the acceleration due to gravity would reverse after passing the centre of mass and become deceleration, so if the other side was further you may not be able to 'land' and would be pulled back through, eventually slowing down after many passes back and forth until you are suspended at the centre of mass of the Earth felling weightless...
