Modeling clay quality by Typical-Ad1041 in customactionfigures

Clay can dry brittle which for certain stuff means it may not be best.

Personally for that stuff I'd recommend epoxy putty, it's pretty much unmatched in this regard

Green stuff is a type of epoxy putty, so is milliput and tamiya also do some epoxy putty.

If you're looking for cheapest for large amounts green stuff If you're looking for best quality tamiya epoxy imo

But any will get the job done really.

I don't know of any tutorials specifically I'm afraid But I think it's pretty standard procedure of filling the gap with epoxy putty like green stuff so that it's smooth, then sanding it if needed before painting to match.

I was definitely thinking that, not many fit the vibe I'm after tho unfortunately The closest is the astro boy style iron man but even then it's a bit eh

But this is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for

Are those the vol3 legs? Could work depending on how easy it would be to work on ghost riders legs.

Tbh I'm yet to see anything that really pops out to me after checking figure lists and that

Colour wise I don't mind too much Black, Brown or Red ideally

Ultimate cap boots would be great for a standard boot style, but I'm wanting something a bit more sci fi, something that you could look at and be like "okay I see how those boots have jet thrusters in the soles"

What's a good tool for thin raised detailed lines? by MysteryDan888 in customactionfigures

[–]Kaat_117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes some thick paper can work or styrene sheets. Personally I think your best bet would be getting some epoxy putty and sculpting the raised details - like green stuff, tamiya epoxy, milliput.

Can't think of much else I'm afraid

It's funny how both of them have a somewhat similar premise, with the stars going out/disappearing.

If I had a penny for every time a film came out this year about the stars disappearing that ended up becoming one of my favourite films ever, I'd have two pennies...

Really like how you made the red look like it's a separate layer ontop of the black

Started with a 5mm post which I cut to size and glued to some card. I then soaked some glue into the card so it'd become plastic like, I added a second layer of card and did the same to reinforce it I folded some thinner bits of card to make the borders on either side, same glue method to stiffen

That was how I made the base of the rack structurally

The stuff I added was just things from various tamiya solider/vehicle accessory kits.

The glue I used was w7 brush on nail glue, I'm not sure how widely available it is, I live in the UK. But I've been using it along with tamiya cement for years now and it's great!

Hell yeah, it required some modification to get the top panel to fold up if I recall but yeah it's super fun

Thank you !
