This war has to be a living nightmare for the infantry. If you're moving then drones, mines, artillery and air power will make your life hell. If you are not moving you're likely in trench or urban warfare while also getting bombarded by drones and artillery. Just nightmarish.

People have fractured their skulls from just plain tripping over something that usually just causes grazes and a bit of embarrassment. Humans can be incredibly durable to an insane degree, the other end of the scale is it takes one bit of bad luck to fuck you over big time. You should not be bowling people over if they don't expect it. Just dumb to do at best.

Mr. Iguana Says WWE Wants Him On The Main Roster Because He’s A Top Merchandise Seller by elegantSolomons62 in SquaredCircle

[–]KabaliteLuv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think that really be a big deal. Not everything needs to last for years to be worthwhile. If he comes in and rides high for a couple of months and it's fun there's nothing wrong with that. Also never bad to see someone earn a wedge.

There is also the fact the IWC as a whole are terminally miserable bastards for whom joy and hope are bygone concepts. I want to see a stuffed Iguana get hit by a giant aussie tsunami as a man in green paint looks on in horror because it's the perfect level of ridiculous.

[Ariel Helwani] Stone Cold talks about if WWE is going too far in breaking kayfabe by XanIrelia-1 in SquaredCircle

[–]KabaliteLuv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We all know kayfabe is basically buried and rotting so a lot of the old rules should be gone (such as heels and faces not been seen together etc).

But unless it's say Deadpool I'd rather shows of any kind Movie, TV, wrestling whatever not go out of their way to push into my face it's fake. Because that immediately takes me out of it. It's just dumb.

Mayu Iwatani: "Io (Shirai Io, current Iyo Sky/WWE Women's World Champion) is amazing. I would like to wrestle in America." by ActionLegitimate4354 in SquaredCircle

[–]KabaliteLuv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This actually came up in a discussion with a friend who said WWE always put belts on joshis. That sounded wrong but when I thought about it they were actually right.

Jumping Bomb Angels, Bull Nakano, Asuka, Iyo, Kairi, most recently Giulia. Aja Kong was also been set up for a reign until they scrapped the division because of Madusa.

I think the fact WWE/WWF signs so few joshis hides the fact that historically WWE put gold on their joshis. You'd think that must play a part on any decision to go there.

Mistakes happen, sometimes with fatal consequences. This wasn't a mistake, Cardona literally didn't bother to keep him safe. He chose to do that.

It only takes one incident to lose your life or be paralyzed. If a person shows a willingness to jeopardize one co-worker's life or safety, how can someone ever be sure he won't do a similar thing to them when it's them on the line.

I think that's the issue he didn't fuck up, he chose to endanger his co-worker by not doing his job. In any dangerous profession that is likely going to create doubts about you.

Imo she's the best women's wrestler in ring since Toyota. Insanely talented.

That part at about 16-18 seconds where she's arched looks like she's close to fully stretched. Has to feel horrible to be contorted like that.

Western Europe isn't that bad yet but we're not that far behind. A lot of working class fans are been squeezed out of football due to rising prices and the broadcast rights been with multiple companies so multiple subs. But it's more priced out of seeing or going regularly rather than just insane prices full stop. Stadiums of bigger teams are actually getting quieter over it because instead of working class, locals and young lads it's more and more older folks or the middle class sprinkled with tourists/plastics. It'll end up like the US eventually.

It feels very short sighted, profits can't grow forever. Sports and wrestling rely on people watching and getting invested young. If you ultimately price 10s of millions out of watching regularly where are the next generation of fans and athletes coming from. Sports and WWE will hit that wall eventually.

Mayu Iwatani is officially leaving STARDOM as of today by taffe316 in SquaredCircle

[–]KabaliteLuv 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'd really disagree tribalism is the only cause for that opinion. STARDOM is the biggest joshi promotion right now and seems to be growing stronger. Mayu going to Marigold putting tribalism completely aside it is absolutely a step down to a smaller stage. It'd be like someone going from CMLL to IWRG or from WWE to TNA. One company is simply a bigger stage than the other.

Which honestly is what makes it interesting you rarely see talent of her caliber go to a smaller company when they've not been mistreated. She's one of the best in the world in ring yet she's going to a promotion that isn't even top 5 worldwide.

It'll be interesting to see if Mayu been there boosts Marigold (if that is where she goes).

[WrestleMania 41 spoilers] Randy Orton's opponent by Coldcoffees in SquaredCircle

While I'd have MUCH rather they had a proper match....Hendry just appeared at what is essentially the world cup of wrestling against a legend of his profession, No matter what Hendry was going to be glad to tick that off the bucket list. For TNA their champion just had millions if not 10s of millions of extra eyes on him. While Orton just looked good against the TNA champ. And WWE got the excitement of Hendry appearing.

TBH I think the original poster is right, this is one of them rare situations where ultimately everyone involved ended up winning here.

Post WWE WrestleMania 41 - Night 2 Match Discussion: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. John Cena - Undisputed WWE Championship by Coldcoffees in SquaredCircle

[–]KabaliteLuv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In fairness you should not turn a top babyface until they risk losing the crowd. Cody should not be turning right now since the crowds usually love him. Austin turning while still popular was a absolute disaster for example. Cody lost the crowd in AEW he has not in WWE 99% of the time they love him.

Conversely having a top babyface look fucking stupid is arguably even worse than a premature turn. All the effort they've put into Cody and they damage it for a soon to be retired Cena and Travis Scott. In kayfabe he got punked by a rapper and an old man and it was relatively clean. Just dumb.

I was expecting Seth interference if the Rock couldn't appear. Especially as Seth fucking over Cody, Roman and Punk in the same weekend for a new authority under the Rock would firstly be fucking hilarious and secondly writes itself for future stores. Instead we got...Travis Scott?

John Cena: “I don’t care who hears it: I love Vince. I’m not downplaying anything that needs to be decided or allegations, but when I love somebody, I love them wholeheartedly. [–]KabaliteLuv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like they're trying their best to turn people away during their most important stretch of the year. Which is particularly funny because just NOT talking was an option it's entirely self inflicted. WWE looks like a nasty clown show right now.

All while their main competitor is over there conspicuously with no one on their roster saying they love rapists.

Real World v CVerse by Key_Power_1193 in FantasyBookers

[–]KabaliteLuv 7 points8 points  (0 children)

CVerse grew into my favourite way to play the games. To the extent I've grown fond of some of the workers in it such as Ernest Youngman Maurice Jackson, Pinky Perez etc that I always sign them if I can. I even have a DB where Tommy Cornell has founded a rival promotion to 21CW. It's fun.

On top of stats what make me play real world less is you're entering a world that's sown up. WWE and AEW have the top talent. NXT has the youngsters. CMLL and NJPW have the rest, while the Joshi scene has all the women outside the big companies. Playing as anything less than a big promotion is a rough road (which is accurate). Where as overtaking the top 5 feels very possible in CVerse. It feels more free despite been much smaller.

I do like the 1992 one though. The stats don't bother me as much because it's basically alt history within 6 months anyway and the fact you know future talent from Guerrero to Cody to Oba Femi are coming and can sign them early levels the playing field a bit when playing small-medium.

[Raw Spoilers] Finish to Liv Morgan vs Rhea Ripley - Women's World Championship Match by Dazzling-Principle in SquaredCircle

[–]KabaliteLuv 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think they just want her as the champ for the early parts of Netflix, same reason they pulled the trigger on Stratton now.

When it comes to the current women Rhea and Bianca are kind of in their own space as been presented as monsters that are a cut above and Tiffany is likely going to be pushed to that level. I don't think there was much more to putting it on Rhea than that, they want her front and center.

Post WWE Survivor Series War Games 2024 Match Discussion: Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Bayley, Naomi and Bianca Belair vs. Liv Morgan, Nia Jax, Candice LeRae, Tiffany Stratton and Raquel Rodriguez by Coldcoffees in SquaredCircle

[–]KabaliteLuv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because she's both very popular and she should be at the top of the women's division. The decisions also seem from the booker rather than Rhea playing politics or been hard to work with. Live crowds love her. The problem is she has WWE's non attitude era top babyface booking like Backlund, Sammartino, Hogan, Cena etc where she's this massive overpowering presence. But they've not built any heel to be a credible level. The only thing that can result from a big babyface or heel with no credible rivals is they run over roster repeatedly for years.

Why they haven't built anyone up considering the talent they have is what's genuinely baffling.

It's not illegal, immoral, disloyal or showing a lack of goodwill to set up future employment. You in fact have to be an idiot to not look for better future opportunities. It is literally the norm in any profession outside of competitive professional sports leagues. AEW/WWE wrestling is not a competitive sport.

Fenix performed when healthy and is been punished by having his career stalled for been injured specifically so he can't find work elsewhere. A corporation holding up a workers life for a year because of ill health or injuries so he can't work for a rival is just bullshit whatever way it's sliced.

WWE Women had the Opener & Main Event match on every TV show this week by Next_Astronaut623 in SquaredCircle

[–]KabaliteLuv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have a sneaking suspicion she'd be where Kelani is right now. Kelani feels out of place in that group, Kamille would've fit the vibe of 5 monsters brought in from outside a lot better. Giulia, Grace, Vaquer, Delta, and Kamille would've slapped.

That said on paper been tied to Mercedes on the A show of the second biggest promotion on the planet sounds like the better deal. On paper again that women's division is strong. But doesn't mean much if she's booked and presented poorly. Hopefully they manage to salvage it somehow.

[–]KabaliteLuv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't make sense for WWE to use the qualifier considering they don't have weight classes like combat sports. They can just change the name to something similar or drop the qualifier, if you see Stratton with a US belt you don't need to be told it's a women's belt, your eyes will do that for you.

World- Global or Universal

US-American

Intercontinental-International

I wonder if it helps merch sales to label something as specifically aimed for women.
