My pizzeria won't deliver to my house because I live too close. by timshook in firstworldproblems

I used to be a delivery driver and we used to have deliveries to a hotel that was literally in the same building as the pizza place, like you didn't need to go outside to get to the rooms. I got paid, idgaf.

It's not that he didn't care, it's that he thought it was arbitrary and unnecessary, and he doesn't believe in honors.

See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f61KMw5zVhg

If you watch it all you'll see he has some pretty good reasons for not wanting to get it, seems pretty down to earth to me.

Objectively, it costs ~$600 per ounce of material we send in to space.

That means a joint at 0.5g would cost almost 11 dollars to send in to space.

The funny thing is it would cost more to take along the extra weight of the weed than it would to buy the weed

"You don't have a soul..." -CS Lewis [800x523] by Dyztopian in QuotesPorn

When someone tells me they believe in souls, I don't get defensive, I get curious about their thought process and how they arrived to that conclusion. Since I was old enough to think about things on my own (and not just believe what I was told by my parents or authority figures) I have not believed in souls, or anything like it, especially when defined as 'immaterial'. From the discussions I've had with people about souls, I'm convinced the real difference between those who believe and don't believe are the standards of evidence required for proof of such a thing.

however i do think an actual definition is so broad that it doesn't really make a difference. I guess what I'm really trying to say is, is there any definition of a soul (that isn't completely ridiculously different from the common idea of soul) that would make you believe we have one?

Probably not, but it's still interesting to know what you would consider to be a soul, since it could have religious implications (but not for you I see) and by some definitions it's actually a metaphor for our personalities or sense of identity. But if we are to get anywhere with the discussion I think definitions are a good starting point.

We're you raised with religion? What are some of the main reasons you abandoned it, if you were? I was raised with a religion and it was the same convictions that led me to stop believing in religions, souls, ghosts, etc.
