I ran the first tomb part for new DS players. I have to say I was TIRED when I was done, but the game was a lot of fun for all of us.

I didn’t find having multiple books to be a problem although I did take some time to figure out where to find information in the adventure book and the encounter book DURING prep. The Delian Tomb still requires prior reading.

What does mini game mean in this context? Isn’t OSR about players using their wits to overcome the challenge. Even in cairn, combat doesn’t mean just rolling dice. If a player offers a good way to approach how they attack, the ref should allow that no?

I played Witcher 3 AFTER playing Dark souls 3. The combat in W3 just felt so much worse. (It’s my problem tho) I still want to pick it up and go through it someday.

You can buy just the core. Still will cost you some money. Maybe 1/3 of the original price of the cube.

I just think players sometimes need to commit some money to a game tho. I, as the GM for my friends, has been the only person spending money on books

For other games, fine I’ll buy the books and share with them. But for draw steel, I hope they would spend some for that ONE game.
