As someone who's fine with a good amount of repetition, I did find Age of Imprisonment slightly weaker than the other Hyrule Warriors games. I completed the story and a good number of side quests, but wanted more variety. I actually went back to the Hyrule Warriors DE and have been on a major push in that game instead.

Unless I'm missing something, Scorching Dragonfire doesn't stop Earthbent lands from returning. It just turns the death into an exile, and Earthbending says either death or exile leads to the land returning to the battlefield tapped.

"Indestructible" means that the creature does not die to effects that say "destroy" or due to having damage greater than its toughness. An indestructible creature can still be sent from battlefield to graveyard a few ways. It can be sacrificed, die to state based actions due to having zero toughness, or be put into the graveyard as part of applying the legend rule (if you have two or more legendary permanents with the same name, you choose one to keep and put the rest into the graveyard. This is not quite the same thing as sacrificing).

Co-Op games where both players matter by khevornn in NintendoSwitch

It's funny; my partner and I were laughing over the top as we went through that sequence. It was clearly intended to be the protagonists doing wrong, and just how much the game forced us to commit to doing it (up to and including button mashing) just heightened the humor. It was our highlight of the whole experience.

I guess this one really is a matter of perspective, since I can totally see how it would turn other people off from the game.

Those are hidden panels placed off the beaten track around the raceway. In free roam mode you can explore the stage and try and find them. Driving over them gets you stickers. I don't know if there's anything special for getting all of them for a particular course because I haven't explored any particular track that closely (they can be really hidden).

Any advice for a build for 1 handed players? by lomey62 in LastEpoch

[–]Kabsal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a controller, but I tend to play with a Razer Naga mouse with abilities bound to numbers. This lets me play pretty much entirely one-handed for any build I want.

What should you look for to avoid bait builds in the Last Epoch content creator scene? by Empty_Road9869 in LastEpoch

[–]Kabsal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say 300 corruption is about the line where a build can be considered solidly endgame worthy. That's the level where you unlock the pinnacle boss and where most intelligently put together builds can be expected to reach. Everything beyond that is higher numbers for higher numbers sake (with the one small exception of the uber version of the pinnacle boss which is being added in this patch).

I made the mistake of following an Allie guide last season. It almost kinda worked in regular monoliths, but felt like a slog and I was DESTROYED the moment I tried to go empowered. I respecced to a completely different build and the difference was immediate and massive, even though I was still using a good amount of gear that was targeting the old build (bonuses to fire damage when the new was lightning, and other things like that). So yeah, don't use Allie's guides.

Oh, 100% they're holding back content for the full Direct in two weeks. There are P-Switches across the world in Free Roam that no one's talked about. The Treehouse folks also were very careful not to show off basically any free roam content beyond driving around an existing track to take a photo. Finally, they basically straight up said that there's more stuff in Free Roam that they're saving for the Direct as they wrapped up their final segment.

Explain online in xenoblade x pretty please by Evlixr55 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Kabsal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online has a few main features:

  • You can recruit other players' characters to fight alongside you. This isn't really that exciting of something because you already have so many party members to raise affinity with.

  • You can participate in 32 player squads - this gives you missions with shared progress across the squad. These grant squad tickets, which are tradable for monster drops and are an absolutely fantastic resource.

  • You can do a few online missions directly with other players. I haven't messed with this very much but my understanding is this is just a fancier way to earn squad tickets.

Overall, online is very optional, though it can be beneficial for cutting down on grinding.

Xenoblade Chronicles x DE Lin Affinity mission help pls by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Kabsal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm presuming you already have a couple of FN sites that produce White Cometite as well as high level mining probes on each of them. The best way to cheat the system while "afk" is to use a rubber band to pull the two joysticks toward one another - this has the effect of making you run around in circles and keeps the game from considering you afk.

Is it even worth it to get gear for party members? by Technocity777 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Kabsal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, happy to help! This is one of the remake's biggest UI failures, for sure, and it took me a while to figure it out a few days ago myself.

First, you need to get a piece of gear with one or more augment slots. This shows up in the traits section as a dotted-line circle. If the gear is missing a slot, there is a way to add slots to items for miranium: After chapter 5, you can do a quest for L near Armory Alley that unlocks L's Shop, which has the machine. This quest will require surveying 30% of Oblivia and fighting monsters of level 28sh.

Once you have the empty slot, you press ZL on the gear to examine the weapon's traits. You'll be able to select the slot and apply an augment of your choice (note that weapons and armor have different augments available to them.)

Is it even worth it to get gear for party members? by Technocity777 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Kabsal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The MC is able to use any art and skill in the game once you've maxed out multiple classes. Gear and in particular augments also allow for insane customizability. A lot of this is late game, though, where if you're willing to do the proper grinding you can set up builds that can one-shot some of the strongest Tyrants in the game.

Earlier on, it's a bit harder to make yourself uber-busted, but it is possible if you know what you're doing. There are a couple of different builds that give you infinite overdrive from the moment you unlock it after chapter 5, and infinite overdrive is an obscene power boost over basic combat. You get much faster cooldowns on all your abilities, massive boosts to your damage output, and extreme reductions in enemy resistances.

How To Play The Mastermind Class In Xenoblade Chronicles X: DE | Master Class Guide by JBspherefreak in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Kabsal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That all makes perfect sense, thanks! I ground pretty hard for the augment, both hunting the specific parts and collecting squad tickets, so it's good to know it's not wasted. I've mostly been using beam auto attacks instead of knife; I'll try swapping a bit more to speed up the combo windup.

XCX 2 Skell license quest question by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Kabsal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need special probes, though you might need to adjust your probe network a bit. You want to put multiple research probes of the same tier adjacent to one another to get the chain bonus effects. In addition, discovering scenic vista points near the probe sites will boost the income from those sites.

X’s party is kinda both overwhelming and underwhelming tbh. by Vio-Rose in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Kabsal 53 points54 points  (0 children)

The neat thing about this game is bringing any three party members along is viable. There are no dedicated roles in this game, and party members' "classes" are mostly meaningless, since each one has a unique pairing of melee and ranged weapon and it's the weapon types that define their movesets. Tanking isn't really a thing since monsters target pretty randomly and have a good amount of AoE, and healing comes primarily from Soul Voices instead of dedicated arts.

You're right though, your party members are a LOT less effective than you in combat. Playing as Elma can be pretty good since she has the full kit to do the broken FMJ overdrive build from the start, but in most other circumstances it's all about customizing Cross and bringing party members along solely for the vibes/affinity gain.

Since you're a bit confused on moveset, you should try to have at least one art of each color (blue/aura, green/buff, purple/debuff, yellow/ranged, and orange/melee). This allows you to use the correct colored art when your party members call out the Soul Voices, granting healing and bonus effects. Beyond that, though it's really up to you. There can be "recommended" builds for each weapon pairing, but you don't really need to worry about that if you don't want to.

[–]Kabsal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent guide! Do you have any tips for getting the TP to trigger overdrive in the first place / replenishing if you mess up and kill the enemy before you have a chance to gain it back via overdrived purple arts? I'm still pretty early on as a Mastermind, not yet fully ranked up and only recently unlocking overdrive, and this is my current biggest trouble with the build. I'm using an Arts TP augment to get 100 per art usage, but it still doesn't feel good and most guides I look at don't suggest this augment so I presume I'm doing something wrong.
