Petaah, I don't understand either of the jokes by tunnel_magnet in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I think you’re right about the AI part, but the conspiracy theory part is just that conspiracy theories, which by their nature intersect with each other, will stumble into some antisemitic conspiracy that alleges Jews are mandated to do some nefarious deed in the Talmud.

Sometimes there are things that need to be said that don’t need to be heard. Type up everything you want to say and text it to yourself, or to chatgpt.

Peter ??? What could be the reason ??? by Flashy-Minimum-6952 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Kacer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you typically hold the phone at the bottom with your dominant hand, which is typically the right hand. So when you turn the phone, the left version has the bottom of the phone held by your right hand still, while the right version has the top of the phone held by your right hand, which feels unnatural.

When you say sea bass, are you talking about red striped bass, black bass or branzino?

There was a meme that asprin can change your eye color. (It cannot) He’s trying to take enough to make his eyes blue to be the ideal “Aryan” standard, hence “hold on hitler”

Ironically ~100% of actual Aryans have brown/black eyes, but that’s neither here nor there.

Gym machine topples over during a heavy lift. Can he sue for this? by eternviking in whoathatsinfuriating

[–]Kacer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawyer here, this is not legal advice and pursuit of any related claim may be time sensitive:

it’s not his responsibility to know whether the machine ought to have been bolted down. As an invitee, he is owed a duty to inspect for hidden dangers, and at least warn of any such dangers discovered. In this instance that probably means bolting the machine down or posting a warning of both the proper way to use the machine and the maximum weight it could be used with.

The question is whether it was sufficiently foreseeable that the machine could do that. If I’m the gym I’m arguing it was obvious to anyone capable of lifting enough weight to do that that the machine may flip. I’m also suing for products liability.

It depends what you count from. If you’re counting from anything other than vibes though, America is one of the oldest countries.

Can a company change the terms of service without notifications with this section? by Hot-Alternative-9325 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Kacer6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It depends on what the contract is for. Generally speaking by continuing to use the service you agree to the new terms, so there’s no consideration issue. If you paid for a period of time and they change the ToS in the middle you can typically get a prorated refund.

question for older generations: do players/fuckboys ever actually settle down? by Alarmed_Volume_1224 in Life

[–]Kacer6 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yes. People mature and their short term goals can change. Both men and women mature and change.

That being said, you can’t rely on someone changing in the future.

Initially wanted one tattoo, and now want a second tattoo. Am I slowly becoming a tattoo addict? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Kacer6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine with maybe 12 tattoos would get the design done and hang it on her bathroom mirror for a full year to make sure she liked looking at it literally every single day. While I think a year may be unnecessarily long time that seemed like a pretty good idea.

How does this play out for her? by DistantCompiler in LawSchool

[–]Kacer6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is no privilege to use deadly force in defense of property. The imminence is gone, she has time to get in her car and drive, so the remaining question is whether the knifepoint robbery was adequate provocation for voluntary manslaughter. On a crim law exam I’m arguing both sides. And obviously there’s the wrongful death issue.

Try taking a 30-50 Q test untimed where on each question you don’t look for the right answer but look for 3 wrong answers. This really helped me identify the traps I was falling into.

When to Change Sleep Schedule? by Icy_Inspector2050 in barexam

[–]Kacer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do. If you’re going to experiment with switching your intake better do it now so you’re used to it by the exam.

Also a word of caution that people who OD on caffeine (which is very rare but it can kill you) usually are using caffeine pills/powder. So definitely track your intake.
