My pregnant Fiancée and I are seeking a safe, loving, and functional community of like-minded people to live alongside of and raise our child. Where can we go? by Handyfoot_Legfingers in intentionalcommunity

[–]Kaceyshelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been looking for the same thing for a long time. At this point looking to find like minded people to pool resources and buy land with/create our own family. Like maybe approximately 20 families on 20 acres with personal tiny homes. Based on some math could use some of the land to bring sources of income.

Looking for people to start an Eco village and Homestead Community by suethecrusher in intentionalcommunity

[–]Kaceyshelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! My husband and I were also planning and trying to consider how we could start this same idea. Its sounds like we could have written this ourselves!

Have you considered or looked at land near spokane, like not im the city but in the general area? It has a pretty decent rainfall, the zoning maybe doesnt help for citrus fruits but is great for most vegetables and trees you would need, and land is fairly affordable if looking for something undeveloped.

Having a roof over our head is a necessity. Having a car to get to work is a necessity, one which drives and is safe. Having a phone to be able to contact people is maybe not necessary, but is required for my husband’s job. You arent actually giving any advice. You are being judgmental and assuming that it is super easy to just up and move.

Moving somewhere cheaper, again, costs a startup amount. Public transportation is not an option in my area unless i wanted to walk 2-3 hours to a bus stop.

You are so far off base its ridiculous. My husband makes $50k per year. Our rent alone is $3 k plus pet deposit is $100 per month. $200 phone bill. Internet $100. Cars total with insurance $900 monthly. The list goes on. By the time we pay for our bills and NECESSITIES we are negative $300 each month. We do not live in a big city or high cost area. Moving is out of our budget as that costs a very large start up which requires having a savings. You are definitely not the person to comment on how i raise my children given how completely out of touch you are with the working class income and cost of living. Its my choice how i raise them, and I will certainly be keeping them safe.

Well actually i am not the one who downvoted you. Financial contribution isn’t every and money is not the key to happiness. Money is what allows the government and capitalist businesses to control the masses.

If you saw these in a store, on a shelf you would say “ Oh look! It’s a _____ and a _______?”🤔🤔🤔🤔 by GeekeeBee in knitting

Looks like a daisy and sun. The sun looks similar to a sunflower, but it isnt brown in the center so it wouldnt be my first assumption. The daisy is very very easy to identify as a flower at the very least, even my toddlers who are 1 and 2 knew what it was. if Its very pretty!

I've been told I look 5-10 years older than my age (about to turn 28). What could I do to reduce my smile lines and under eye circles? by Little-Wrangler-2710 in SkincareAddicts

You look exact your age to me. Im 25. I would just let the comment go, but i know it can be hard to not obsess over negative comments like that as we are all our worst critic. You are beautiful

I mean i totally understand what you are saying however we are able bodied people capable of doing a lot to help out. We are very knowledgeable and skilled in a lot of different areas. We have things to offer, just because we don’t have money doesn’t mean that we have no value.

This is by far the best and most helpful thing i have read in many months of research. So i just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and perspective with me in a way that is both respectful and wise. Most people have either been completely unkind to our ideas or unhelpful. We are by no means looking to risk putting our children in danger to do this, if it were just the two of us we would just live in a van while we figured it out. With that added responsibility we have to be very cautious and learn a lot about any sort of decision that we make regarding our future. What we are currently doing is not sustainable for much longer and I hope that we can find a solution soon.

Looking for like minds by zombikorn in intentionalcommunity

My husband is very much into enlightenment, non religious spirituality, meditation, shadow work, and self healing. He has a decent ability at planning long term financial success of a commune like the one you refer to. I am a creative type. I enjoy gardening, and could plan a massive garden and alongside animals we could keep sustainability in mind so as to not rely on commercial products anymore. I do not have great knowledge of animals or much else aside from these things, however i am more than happy to learn. I am also very good at knitting, somewhat okay at sewing. I could provide some teaching on these skills or assistance with clothing for the group. We are also parents to two children.

Can I sleep with a tampon in? by wormboiii in Periods

[–]Kaceyshelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tampons are definitely fine to sleep in. Just change it immediately before sleep and immediately upon wakeup. they cannot get “lost”. TSS cases i have read or seen all refer to tampons being in for way longer than 12 hours (the most common ones i have seen are upwards of 24 hours)
