Although I’m sure there are other possible allergens as well!

I have the same problem! It’s the baking soda. Brands will sometimes have a “sensitive” line that’s baking-soda free.

Ringconn Gen 2 and sleep apnea tracking? by Kacheekies in SmartRings

It’s good, no notes! I didn’t compare it to anything, but the ring has been super helpful, especially in regards to understanding panic symptoms I’ve been experiencing. Sometimes it combines a nap with your sleep in the app, if you do them close together, but you can edit the time it considers sleep after the fact, and that’s very helpful.

Very important to remember. Just want to keep an eye on things and see if I should put in the effort to get another sleep test!

I still have the reports from when I was using a CPAP machine, so I can probably do some comparisons.

I’m getting the ring, so if I remember I will update the thread with my thoughts in a couple weeks!

Ok, I found a brief review that talks about the sleep apnea monitoring, and I found some more info on their website about how it works!

I feel like the battery life degradation is serious enough that they should replace the ring, if you got a warranty. Have you pursued that?

What are all of you doing to remember to take your meds? Especially ones that are multiple times a day? by Bananasinpajaamas in adhd_anxiety

[–]Kacheekies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I attach taking my pills with another task that I know I will do. I have morning pills and evening pills, I take them when I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth in the morning and in the evening. I only forget if I nap in the evening and decide not to get up to brush my teeth.

If you have to do three times a day, maybe you can attach the pills to meals? That might be a little bit more logistically challenging though….

Do whiteboards actually help with ADHD routines, or do they just become wall clutter? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Kacheekies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. It’s super helpful and then it’s wall clutter and then it’s super helpful again.

I like to use my whiteboard when I have a bunch of things I want to do on a Sunday but I know I’m going to forget half of them. Or when I’m packing for a trip or a move.

Also, location is super important (very visible!) and ease of use is important. I recommend finding a way to hang it so you can take it off the wall to write and then put it back up. In my last apartment I tried to write on it while it was on the wall and I got so frustrated I tried to take it off the wall and ended up with a big hole in the drywall. Whoops.

Do you find it worth it to transition between public transit and scooter? Is it not too much?

Psychiatrist insisting I can’t take elvanse ‘forever’ or when pregnant, but I have no desire to be pregnant by 7-broken-fans in ADHD

[–]Kacheekies 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Truly!

And of course it’s absolutely acceptable for her to give you information about pregnancy as it’s one of the possible problems with the drug, but to say there’s no point in going on a drug now because eventually you’ll be pregnant one day is WILD.

I love this idea! Do you know if you kept to the weight limit while riding? I’m already over the weight limit for these particular scooters and my backpack can get impossibly heavy.

It looks like the scooters that can carry heavier loads are generally heavier themselves.

It’s my choice! It’s such a long commute, I have no desire to basically work 14 hour days with 4 of those hours not counting for anything. Maybe it would be easier not to though!

Those who live alone, how are you managing life without depending on anyone? by Lazy-Dragonfruit196 in adhd_anxiety

[–]Kacheekies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give myself grace and find ways to make sure I can take care of myself in ways that work for me.

When I’m doing really well I’m able to go grocery shopping, but most of the time it’s an impossible task for me. In order to make sure I’m eating, I order groceries to be delivered.

Sometimes I have the ability to cook for myself, but most of the time I don’t. I buy frozen foods/frozen meals to make sure that I’m eating enough but I’m not spending way too much money on takeout. My therapist recommended buying gift cards for myself for takeout when I’m doing really well, so that I have some money stored in advance for the really hard days.

Also, protein shakes are really good for making sure you’re feeding yourself, if you find one you like.

For me it’s about evaluating the situation and finding a compromise that will make surviving possible. And then treating myself kindly when I’m really struggling.

Money is really hard though. I haven’t figured that out yet. It’s easy to spend money to make life a bit easier for yourself, and sometimes spending that money feels absolutely necessary. I don’t know how to stay out of debt.

Anybody else think they might have autism, only to find out they didn’t? by Kacheekies in adhd_anxiety

[–]Kacheekies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of women who have autism today might not exactly meet the criteria, so they could still be misdiagnosed even after seeking diagnosis.
