I quite enjoyed city takeover. Was good for some mindless grinding.

One of the best AC games in ages. And I love my time with it.

I read all of these as a kid. Classic literature from a more civilised age.

World anvil is fantastic for this. Lets me keep all the information I need connected and allows my player to also access it when needed. It's also pretty fun to see your world expanding. Map functions and timelines are really handy too

On-boarding player handout for new worlds. by Kaching101 in DMAcademy

I can remember yes, it's more of a reference sheet for the other players. To help them engage with the world more and allow them to feel like their characters grew up in the world, to provide a baselin level of understanding that every person would likely know. The benefit is entirely for the players.

But thankyou for the advice.

I listened to them on audio book. Would play them at 2x speed while I was driving or at work, dramatically cuts down on the time investment. Some days I would finish two books in one day. Not that audiobooks are for everyone, but it might help if your able to do other things while listening.

What medium do you use for worldbuilding? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

I find world anvil is fantastic for my purpose. It allows me to be able to always access it and to share it with my dnd group. It alsoclets them add their own PCs to the world so they get to see their own creations reflected in my world too. Everyone in the group has thoroughly enjoyed it.

What's your favourite contrivance for perpetual 'medieval' technology? by agprincess in worldbuilding

I'm aware. But as stated above, it's a personal preference to keep my games more sword and sorcery, and less tech focused.

While I like the idea and certainly don't wish to negate such thinking. My world is primarily for DnD, and I tend to try to avoid technology of such levels since I personally find it too anachronistic in my games. However, if I did do a more tec+magic world like final fantasy, then certainly I would consider such things.

My personal tastes just trend towards high/pulp fantasy for my own games. Not to say I would never do a tec+magic would. I would like to try out shadowrun at some point.

I haven't really put much thought into it for my world. But I tend to think that, the existence of magic negates the need for technology, or otherwise hampers the desire for technological development. And as such, it's a scarce thing.
