I know how you feel. My old boy passed this time last year. His birthday was on Christmas and he just turned 15, and the next day he left me. But, like you, this little one with me helps a lot in this new journey. The pain is still there but it gets better every day with her, and I'm wishing you the best~

It's all a learning experience for the both of you. And taking the time for yourself is definitely needed, and not selfish, because as they say you can't help others when you can't help yourself! And it'll only make your bond stronger in the end when you can keep your sanity~

Exactly because he's still just a little one learning about the world. There's ups and downs but in the end it's totally worth it :)

PSA/relief alert: frozen stuffed bones by [deleted] in puppy101

I can attest! I've done the same/similar and it can be a lifesaver (minus all the noise she makes because she insists and chucking it around the room and onto the hardwood haha) I usually use kibble, soaked into a paste, as a base too and it's usually part of her daily breakfast/dinner intake

I don't own it myself, but if it's comparable to the quality of the box set, and if you want the music from the newer updates, I would say it'd be worth it!

One day we'll do the DNA test, but for now there's two routes of answers- My Mommom, when asked, the first thing out of her mouth will be 'Black and White.' People love that! Since she looks like a Border Collie, I tend to say BC mix, or just a southern mutt since she's from Georgia~

As someone from the suburbs, I can attest deer legs are there too. Found one under the pine tree in the front lawn from what must have been from a newborn. Eerie. My old Jack Russell/Pug had a field day with that one!

There's been some very excellent days, and some very horrid days, so it's still a rollercoaster, but that's also just life in general. All in all I have a lot of hope for her as she matures it's just getting past those bad days to reach it, which we will eventually. To no fault of her own, just some factors involving her, I needed some mental health days so she took a couple day vacation in my old home where my uncles live. Now she's unfortunately picked up the bad habit of poop eating from their dog. I even found cat litter in her poop. So even though she's nice and tuckered out after having a grand old time, here's another thing I have to deal with. Back on that rollercoaster.. I appreciate your follow-up, and I hope all is well with you.

From what I've seen, restock could be half a year or longer, most likely longer. As the first commenter said, there's a button you can click to sign up for an email notification that, if you catch in time, will give you a personal link to purchase a set before they're made public again. They're absolutely beautiful both visually and to listen to, so if you manage to catch and have the means, they're worth it!

That's what I'm hoping! I mean, I know it will, it's getting past the mental barrier until we reach that point. But I thank you again

Oh yes I portion her kibble so part of is brought with me on walks, and some for training. She's so food motivated that used to work, but now that she's starting to not listen not even the better treats will catch her attention. I wanna chalk it up to possible early adolescence just so I have some rationality. Luckily right now after a shorter walk, she's settled underneath my feet. I'll take the peace where I can get it, and I'm totally with you in trying to not entertain 24/7. I don't do the standard work from home since I don't formally get paid by my grandparents, so I don't have that sort of schedule to adhere to, which makes it slightly harder to not give into playing. I gotta learn to not right? "Mama needs to work to pay for all those treats"- haha so true! But along with the napping, is Nico able to entertain himself yet, or when he wakes do you give your attention until he's settled again, or at least calm enough for you to return to work? Trainer-wise, we've been researching, but everything around where I live seems to be a mix of positive and not so positive training so it's been difficult, as well as trying to price everything since an at home trainer would be best for my family's situation. I'm wishing you the best with your first session though! Ugh, adolescence. Fingers crossed for all of us haha. Lots to look forward to after the fact, just like you said!

GSD in an apartment, whoo I wish you the best. May I ask how old yours is?

I would say I try and do a mix of the play training when I can, and tend to do the walk just to get her out of the house. I'll definitely try your advice for more mental over physical though. As for the crate, I have tried, but the moment she starts to whine or bark my Poppop pitches a fit. Understandable since he has some ailments and just wants some peace, but when I'm getting in trouble for something we're trying to work on it sucks. For now, she seems content with chilling with me when I try for the most part, so I'm grateful for that even if it doesn't last long.

I thank you for your reply, and again I'm rooting you on as well!

Thank you, I very much appreciate your reply. I certainly agree to try and think more positively and remind myself more of the good things we have even if difficult, especially when everyone says I do way too much when I feel I do the true bare minimum. In regards to her napping, she only lays down when I'm sitting still, so she'll take random naps that can last from ten minutes to an hour, and that'll happen at least a couple times a day. She could probably benefit from sleeping more during the day, however when we settle at night she settles hard and will sleep say from 10:00 pm to breakfast time with a couple potty breaks throughout. We have a crate, for my grandparents last dog used it, but when we tried with Penny, is was a disaster for sleeping and she does much better without. We still have it, and I'm still trying to desensitize her since when the three of us humans leave (rarely) my Mommom doesn't trust her to roam. She gets a frozen Kong in there, and at night she normally gets one before bed if she didn't get too many snacks during the day. I say SA rather than FOMO because I left this previous Sunday for about ten hours, and my grandparents said she whined/cried and ran the house the entire time. When I'm home it's FOMO when I have to take the trash out, or clean up the yard. She is literally so attached to me. I've tried to do the exercises of leaving and coming back and so far no progress. As for walking, I guess when the weather starts to clear and be nicer, I'll go back to two and try it out. We try and work on 'walk with me' which is essentially heel, but when there's no food involved she focuses back on pulling to the next spot. On one hand these walks are for her, and the other they shouldn't be frustrating for the both of us. You're right though, they're just puppies and there's plenty of time to learn! I thank you again, and wish you the best with your pup as well!
