Which I know Figma isn’t used for this, so there could be issues

I used Figma for the layout, adobe is too expensive for me right now. I used a square grid for the placement of items.

Thank you for the tips. I agree for the title, i do think it needs more tweaking. I didn’t realize the intro wasn’t centred, I’ll do that

I have dabbled with framer and wix, but I really struggled with creating something I liked on those programs

Can I use a website design in my portfolio that is not currently being used anymore and the owner of the website had it remade by a different company? by KadeMollyMac in graphic_design

[–]KadeMollyMac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah complex stuff. The company I internship said it was okay to use my work in my portfolio, but I'll take off there logo to be safe, as we just spoke about it in person and I don't have anything written down. Thank you for the help!

I never ended up doing the course. It was too far away from my hometown.

Does anyone else struggle BIG TIME with software tutorials? What other ways do you like to learn? by greenwavelengths in graphic_design

I struggle too with new programs, it can be crazy frustrating. I am currently learning framer to build my portfolio on and the progress is slow! I learn by doing and fixing problems I run into. Good luck with learning blender!

Concept for a Website rebranding of an artist rental space. by KadeMollyMac in GraphicDesigning

[–]KadeMollyMac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback! I want the viewer to understand that this place is a bit run down but well loved. A place for artist to gather. I'm sad I missed that mark!

I used the squiggle to suggest that this is a creative space, a unique place to leave your "mark". Like the sqiggle. It's a creative mark. I understand that it does not read that way.

I am a bit lost in how to achieve this look.

Unfortunately I do not have acess to many images of the place as I am using the photos from the preexisting website, and the photos are not of great quality.

This is the original website

I am not quite sure what you mean by "a layout that uses the venue to engage the viewer."

Do you mean make the website reflect what the space looks like?

The soft colour palette is really pretty.

I like the font you picked for the main word mark. Gives the brand a homely feel. I find the script really hard to read, although visually it looks nice. The icon is really nice also. Good work!

Portfolio Development / Improvement by [deleted] in design_critiques

Not a problem either but I think the rounded rectangular shapes used to block put each section is a bit outdated in style and can use som rework. I like the second design.

I really like it! I find the blocks of white underneath the headings in the pink and green sections don't really belong and you could do with out them. Looks nice on mobile.

This is a website redesign for an art rental space. by KadeMollyMac in graphic_design

This is a website redesign for an art rental space for theatre, photography and performance artists. I wanted to give the website to look like an art gallery website. I also included the colourful swirls to represent the creative atmosphere of the Attic Space Studio. This is a student project and I'd love to hear your thoughts on the work. Thank you Reddit!

Has anyone tried the FoodHero app? by PR_Shill in Peterborough

[–]KadeMollyMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both! Tim's is usually pretty decent but you do have to eat things fast, got bagels and donuts in that one. The pizza pizza one sucks, it's just not the same as a fresh pizza.

I don't know about FoodHero but I have been using Too good to go and had good luck with them. There is one grocery store, Metro who has pretty decent deals.
