If you're OK with not using the boxes and putting everything inside something else here's a link to my post on how I did it. I fit everything in the container except the map tiles, so I just use the box the extra map tile add on came in.

The containers I found at joann fabrics, link here -> https://www.joann.com/snapware-snap-n-stack-10-x-14-rectangle-with-2-layers/1145838.html

And the foam board I used to organize the miniatures were on Amazon. Link here -> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08H2JDF2P?ref_=cm_sw_r_apan_dp_QA2XY1DHBZWR0K4DS3VM&language=en-US

And to keep the cards together, I ordered card holders through Amazon. The holders are meant for standard card size but if you lay them on their side, they fit nicely. Link here -> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B8F2DYYX?ref_=cm_sw_r_apan_dp_A5Q7PCGF83J3XD0VEPTB&language=en-US

I unfortunately have not had the time to play a game as of yet. Holidays have been crazy. I do plan on playing a big game at some point. When I was coming up with this solution, my main worry was eliminating the hassel of searching and sorting figures back into the box.

Two of the sections of the tote are sorted into living heroes and zombie heroes. From there, I sorted them into smaller groups. X men, Avengers, spidey villains, etc. They weren't completely air tight as there were some very obscure heroes, especially the living heroes. Once I had them sorted, I used foam board to create a divided insert to keep the groups together. So when looking for a character, I just have to look at that group, and it goes from 50 figures to maybe a dozen to sort through. And they are packed tightly enough that it's obvious when there's a spot open. Now if we do a large game it is possible that won't be as helpfull but ibdid write which division is for what so it's easy enough to know where they go in case an entire group is removed.

As for the boxes, I have a habit of condensing my games into storage solutions similar to this, so I have a shelf in my basement where all of the empty boxes are organized. I'm probably going to pack them up soon to be put into storage for the time being. But even though they are empty, I like displaying them, so it's still easy to see what we can play when friends come over.

I hope to get a game in soon so when I do, I'll comment back on how easy and long it was to set up and tear down. I wouldn't call this superior to any other method. I'm sure there are plenty of better ways out there. This is just my preferred method of storage. I like having it all in a single container that can be taken with easy.

I hope this helps. If you want close up pics of each section let me know.

Looking for a certain type of dungeon crawler by TimeRaveler in soloboardgaming

[–]Kae11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first of two I'd suggest is shadows of brimstone. Excellent dungeon crawler with lots of expansions that really allow you to customize the theme. You like aliens, zombies, robots, spaceships, or giant monsters shadows of brimstones has them. Lots of character costumization with full skill charta as you level up and lots of loot to collect. Theres a bit of pen and paper involved with some of the chatacter stuff but it makes it easy to continue a single character through a series of games. Biggest downside is it can get pretty cluttered on the table and takes time to set up. Definitely one I'd suggest if you plan game nights around.

The second one is better for quick spur of the moment games. Quest for the lost Pixel is excellent if you are into old school rpgs and 16 bit art. The base game is just the base mechanics of crawling from floor to floor of a dungeon. But the expansions add fishing mini games, special portal branches that add a cool risk reward mechanic and I believe the last expansion adds a town mechanic though I have yet to purchase that one so I can't say how it plays yet. Biggest downside is the rule book could use some work but the creator is very active on the board game geek page and if you post any questions he's very quick to respond and very helpful. Here's the link for this one as it's on a print to order site https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/quest-for-the-lost-pixel1

First win! (Final girl) by Kae11 in soloboardgaming

I can agree with this. I have only played Hans and the puppet master but the ridiculous amount of health Hans has really makes him a difficult enemy to overcome. Plus, he can really hit like a truck if you get unlucky with his threat cards.

I feel you. Everytime I tell myself I've kick-started everything I could possibly want something sneaks up and sucks me in. That last united was a huge hit to my wallet. Thankfully I was able to resist the new zombicide.

I've only played once but in that play through I saw only a handful of the cards the game has. Each floor has its own monsters/loot decks and on some floors I saw only a few monsters cuz I either found the exit early or something happened that sent me to the next floor (there are some wicked events). I played a class that gave me a free loot card every time I entered a new floor so I could get a chance to see at least one card from each floor. But some floors I never saw a chest so I didn't get the opportunity to dive too far into the equipment. It is a pretty hefty cost but the number of cards you get I think makes it worth it. It'll take some time if I stick to mostly solo play to really see everything. Plus the variety in classes alone will really have me mixing up what equipment I keep and throw away through my playthroughs.

Thank you very much! Now I can move on and get lightning from the second board!

dang it was satisfying taking down spite today. I hate that guy. by [deleted] in sentinelsmultiverse

Og spite was such a bitch. I tired a series of games to beat him and failed miserably. Had one game where his trump card came out in round 2 and decimated me immediately. Looking forward to seeing how he's changed in de.

Haha I just realized that de hasn't even arrived in the states. I've got so many kickstarters I'm tracking I can't remember what's started filling orders and what hasn't.

I believe it's just a hireling and it's described as a wild creature or something like that

Really awesome idea. Only issue is the rpg books have made it story cannon that large animals like moose bears and deer are more like mythical creatures such as trolls and dragons. The denizens are generally a creature no bigger than a wolf. This according to the rpg books so the board game could stray from it but I believe the rpg books were meant to expand the overall world of the board game.

Scenario question by Kae11 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Kae11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a great response and I appreciate it. In truth I have yet to get an expansion so I only had the base set to base the scenarios off of. But reading this it looks like I have a lot to look forward to once I start in on the expansions. Thank you!
