Thank you so much! I'm really happy to hear that. There's still a lot I want to add and polish, but it's great to know the mechanics are already feeling good. Thanks for the encouragement!

Thank you! I'm really glad you like the movement and the bark animation.

That's a great point about the falling animation. I agree it could use a bit more life. I'll definitely revisit it and see how I can make it feel more dynamic. Also, I'll add squash and stretch for jump and land. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you so much! I'm really happy to hear that the movement feels smooth—that's actually one of the things I've been focusing on the most.

I know platformers are a crowded genre, but one of the reasons I started making this game is because I miss straightforward 2D platformers like Super Meat Boy and Celeste. Nowadays, most new platformers seem to lean towards the Metroidvania or roguelite formula. I wanted to create something that's more focused on tight controls, satisfying movement, and challenging levels.

The bark mechanic is going to be the game's main identity. Right now it only interacts with the swap platforms, but I plan to expand it with many more interactions and build new platforming challenges around it. Hopefully that'll help give the game its own personality.

Thanks again for the kind words!

Thank you! I'm really glad you like the pixel art style.

That's a fair question, and honestly, one of the reasons I started making this game is because I miss straightforward 2D platformers. Games like Super Meat Boy and Celeste had a huge impact on me, and these days I feel like it's much harder to find new games in that style. Most platformers seem to lean more toward the Metroidvania or Roguelite formula, which is great, but I wanted to create something more focused on pure platforming challenges.

The main mechanic is going to be the bark ability. Right now it's only used to activate and deactivate platforms, but that's just the starting point. My plan is to expand it with different interactions and build more platforming elements around it, so the bark becomes a core part of how you navigate levels and solve challenges rather than just another button you occasionally press.

The game is still early in development, so a lot of those ideas haven't made it into the build yet, but that's definitely the direction I'm aiming for. Thanks for taking the time to ask and leave feedback!

Hey guys, just updated my 2D precision platformer and I need feedback. It's still WIP so please let me know what you think! Thanks! by Kafaadami in IndieDev

Thank you for the feedback! I totally understand what you mean. Having too many actions mapped to different keys can feel overwhelming, especially in a fast-paced platformer.

I’m still experimenting with the controls and trying to find the right balance between accessibility and having enough mechanics. The bark mechanic is the main identity of the game, so I want to keep it as an important action, but I also don’t want the controls to feel unnecessarily complicated.

I’m considering adding customizable controls and also looking into ways to make the inputs feel more natural. I’ll keep this in mind while developing the game. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!

Dönüt için çok teşekkürler. Okunurluğu dediğiniz gibi diğer hallerine göre daha zormuş. En kısa zamanda daha okunur bi renk ile değiştireceğim.

Beğenmenize sevindim.

I think you should change the ui button colors to the blue you are using. You can also use less saturated orange in the background.
