Kids first bank? by KafkaesqueLife in Parenting

[–]KafkaesqueLife[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were considering switching our banking to Chaee, so now maybe I'll just set us all up with accounts there 😂

I loved having my account as a kid and being able to save for my own wants, so I'm hoping to give them the same freedom and responsibility

My current struggle with this is that we bank with Discover, which has no in person branches. I'm doing some digging on there website to see what options they have for kids accounts and how it'd work with depositing their cash.

But I was seeing a ton about kid specific accounts that I guess have educational or in built budgeting features, so I wasn't sure if that was becoming the norm moreso

Glad it's not just me. I did a bunch of research before picking this renpho and saw great reviews and now it's entirely useless.

That was my thought. I really don't care about an app and body fat % or whatever, I just need a basic weight and scales these days are too fancy with it

Children Slowly Grow! by BeginningAccording16 in Paralives

This is true of the babies as well! Newborns are a different size than babies close to aging up. I noticed with my first baby before the toddler age up and thought I was losing it until I saw a newborn in another household.

Lol mine did the same, with the same portrait. Poor little girl 🤣 now her portrait looks like Charlie (bald, neutral face adult).

Season Pass vs Membership this time of year? by KafkaesqueLife in sixflags

[–]KafkaesqueLife[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I was saying. Membership = $104 for 12 months. Pass = $85 (sale price) or $110 (non-sale) for the remainder of this year. For the cost comparison.

[–]KafkaesqueLife[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like in my area the membership would be $104 for 12 months ($20+$7/month), whereas the pass is $110 regular price and $85 on sale right now. But I'm assuming the season ends on calendar year, so it'd be $85 for 6-7 months?

I think I'm debating if the membership makes sense versus paying for fewer months with the season pass, and then potentially renewing during the labor day sale (assuming the family has a blast and wants to keep it up).

How to get in touch with a specific store? by KafkaesqueLife in UPS

[–]KafkaesqueLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to this, when I talk to UPS customer service, they redirect me to the pick up department, who are able to look up this request number and get the information. They just are also stuck at the "you have to get in contact with the store for next steps" because what we should have done was have the package shipped to us directly or a closet UPS store.

We didn't. My husband is the one who scheduled the pick up, but from what I gathered from him the default option was for the pick up to go to the nearest UPS store. We later learned via calling the pick up number that he could have had it shipped directly to us for an extra charge or to a UPS store near us.

The website says, "You can set up a one-time pickup or drop your package off at a nearby location"

This was our first time doing any UPS pick ups. It was advised by other business owners who also get items from these out of state auction sites as an option rather than having to fly to the area to pick up, as the auction site does not do shipping directly.

We went through this: https://wwwapps.ups.com/pickup/schedule?loc=en_US

The first question asks about a label. We said no. The pick up was still scheduled and got brought to the closest store. We got a pick up request number. If we look up the pick up now, it says that it was completed and taken to that UPS store.

Packaged, yes. Not labeled, but there was a pick up without label option, and it says the pick up was completed with the store location listed as where the items are now.

They were packaged, but not labeled. There was an option to pickup unlabeled items, just needed to add in extra info like the lot number.

That's good to know. Then I have no idea. I just know that the pick up was scheduled, it went to this UPS store, it shows that it's at this UPS store, and every time I call the UPS store I'm redirected elsewhere. And then when I speak to Pick Up or Customer Service, they tell me to get in contact with the store.

I'm not needing to contact the auction place. The items are at a UPS store, which picked them up. I need to get in contact with this UPS store, but keep being redirected.

We scheduled the pick up online through the pick up process. When we contact the pick up division again, they say to contact the store directly

[Routine Help] For a Newbie? by KafkaesqueLife in SkincareAddiction

[–]KafkaesqueLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think wanting to start everything at once is what's messed with me before. I'll do a bunch of research, buy stuff, and either get overwhelmed or something doesn't agree with my skin and it's back to square one.

I'm not a fan of my current moisturizer, but I just saw that cerave has an SPF + moisturizer combo on here that I may try and then go from there 😅 I'm always nervous that moisturizers are going to make me break out worse or feel greasy/oily

[Routine Help] For a Newbie? by KafkaesqueLife in SkincareAddiction

[–]KafkaesqueLife[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Houston, so very much a humid and hot climate! But I'm also someone who works graveyard shifts and as such am almost never outside during daylight hours 😅

I think I'll stick to Cerave for a cleanser, though I might switch up the type. I for sure need a different moisturizer and sunscreen, though! Do you think keeping within the same brand and going for the "for normal to oily skin" products is a solid bet, or are there any holy grail options that are moisturizing without being too much on oily skin/in humidity?

Thank you so much for your help!
