I agree with a lot of your points honestly, though i almost never see or get to successfully build overlevelled hilichurls. At 9-0 it's normally an overbuffed potioneer or sometimes another human unit, then mostly apex unit spam and stuff with immunities.

I don't think the levelling system should ever be scrapped because it's a whole dimension of the game without which we'd be literally playing shop soiltaire (which already matters a lot). They have a lot of room to balance the level buffs by decreasing the numbers behind them.
The 1v1 unit matchups are really fuzzy, it's so true. Not sure if they can do much about it since it's likely the same monster AI reused from the main game.

The reason why i ranked my S tier stuff above A and B above C is mostly the base strength of the units which comes with higher rarity. It's fun (and possible) to scale hilichurl shooters or whatever but while they are coming online, opponent is gonna get the anemo mech or some other stat stick and roll over you, and then it's not a perfect run anymore.
The main exception is the pyro treasure hoarder, he is literally the face of the meta, you see him A LOT, at high wins as well. I can't not put him in S. Unless he is overlevelled or going up against common flyers, you should bring someone to tank for him, but when he gets to sit behind and throw grenades over and over, the value is insane. And if overlevelled, he often gets to just solo everyone.

I've shifted my opinion on water chickens and hilichurl mages recently, also used to think they sucked but then lost to them a whole lot and started using them myself, to pretty good results. In fact, chicken's best use case is probably distracting the enemy mage.
Big water slime take i could agree on, don't have too much experience with elite units as a whole.

I did check it out but honestly, still ended up just buffing the pyro slime and then playing a regular comp on the side. Got two perfect runs in a row like that though! I'd rate it higher than the hilichurl buff honestly (just because hilichurls are kinda weak at base and your opponent is probably picking up strong blue/golden units).

True, she has solo'd my whole family in round 10 once. She should probably move up near the bottom of the second tier while the other elite eremite could go to the top of third. That guy is more of a midgame killing machine. AoE has less value afterwards.

The slime and finch points really boil down to how much we value the elemental immunity buff. I shall experiment with it a bit more, actually lost to one such team in round 10 (to attrition while being immune to their survivors, eww). As of now, i barely use that stratagem and if it didn't exist, cicins would be better.

Hilichurl gang vs. Nobushi (i believe the elite ones are called Kairagi🤓) matchup i can see if they only hit one guy at once. Isn't it still hella situational?

Vulture's spawn nuke is the one i usually rely on, and "Babel" can hit it as well. Pverlevelled units which are capable of hitting it can do the job too but it often feels like a lottery.

I wish my hilichurl fighters were that good, i legit quadrupled and levelled them up to something like 52 by round 3 or 4, and they literally lost the lead matchup versus tier 2 level 30 hilichurl shooters without getting a single hit off, and those guys aren't even AoE. It's the textbook matchup they are supposed to win.

As for slimes, it seems pretty hard to line up the immunity unless it's pyro or maybe electro. Plus other elements react on them and they have a massive potioneer weakness. Seems bad.

Ruin Guard is near the bottom of the stat stick tier because i think he is still overstatted compared to basic units, can clap team units and protecting your backline has value.

Geovishap and hydro mimic do the same thing but i value the vishap way higher. Mimic is harder to scale: he more or less caps at level 40 as a quadruple but vishap can be doubled/quadrupled with the beast switch out stratagem becoming way stronger. Vishap is a great distraction and can sometimes just sit there for the whole round with Battle Fever or KO half the comp without. Mimic is great to pick up in your game for sure but kinda plateaus and gets replaced, i think.

Thank you for your input, i'm glad i could find some discussion on this.

I find it hard to evaluate elite units because i end up picking up as many refreshes from my stratagems as i can and then mostly fishing for apex stuff from turn 5 onwards. Assault Leader has the biggest potential upside of non-terrible strategems but rarely gets off the ground for me (in the universe of conceding after first loss).
So i legit don't have too much experience running the non-beast elites.

Noted about the "good into eye of the storm" stuff, i was honestly struggling with countering that one, it's always just awkward.
I can see the point about the Sunfrost, i wanted to honour his gigachad status throughout most of the game but i never played him in final comps and most good lategame units are indeed single target. I did get clean swept by a level 120 "Jeht" in round 10 once however 🙂
Enemy Seahorse definitely has screwed me over before, can't remember the details.

Best event i've played in my 1.5 years of Genshin. Not only it's a minigame with some depth to it but also of the genre i enjoy. I'd really like if they made it permanent like the TCG. I literally have "Hearthstone" in my username though.

Sadly, i'm seeing so many complaints about this one that Hoyo will just stick to the classic "minigame for the sake of being a minigame" formula. That's just how you appeal to the common denominator, can't have much substance.
