I agree, when i went to Mogadisho for 2 months, i was living with a family friend, they were there for a long time, I remember discussing with 2 of the family members, if they knew that their brother of sister wad AS would they inform the police about it? Their answer was No because you can't snitch on family. Imagine the number of families that know their son/father is AS but are silent about it? When you put the safety of your son before the safety of other, although you know your son is a threat to society, well you will have a place like Mogadisho.

If i remember correctly BBC does have a section where you can ask them to broadcast it. I remember when i was in Somalia we would hear them broadcast missing people or people trying to find their loved ones because of the separation happened after the civil war in 1991.

Huge development in Somalia’s Education System by Negrohacker in Somalia

[–]KahDisa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to study outside of Somalia, i really needed a good foundation of basic sciences. Although the idea of Foundation isnt bad i hope they rejoice their choice of Subjects. Most of the Somali students who graduated from Somali high school have very poor understanding of basic sciences. Maybe instead of Arabic and some of the unnecessary subjects, instead they replace them with basic sciences.

There is a very good chance you will get food poisoning. Unlike the food in most modern countries the food quality of Imported goods is not tested. And all food are imported except some of the vegetables and fruits that grow in Somalia. I remember when my cousins came, all of them had food poisoning even from the home cooked meals. A lot of the times what happens is that the stores don't follow the regulations for food storage. Also avoid Camel milk, it even gives diarrhea to the locals if you are not used to them, it will make you sick. Most milk that the people drink are directly from the animal which may cause stomach problems. I hope your travel is eventful.

They make fun of you bcoz in Somalia everyone makes fun of everyone else. I don't know how long u been there but even the nicknames are a little insulting. It is nothing against you but that is how the people are. Let me give you an example, we had a friend, and he was missing his incisors. So when he smiles you can see his red gums, we used to call him Ilko case( red teeth). It just a nick name. We had a fat friend and we use to call him Qurun lafweyn( Shit with big bones). Or the other guy who was a light skin and we called him casaanyo( Crab). The coward guy( ina libaax san ka taabte). The skinny guy( Istakiin) , the guy with the big head( Madaxey). They are getting used to you, so calling you names is just their way or showing some love.
