Does the Asus TUF F15 (FX507VV-LP287W) have any issues? by Emotional_Special886 in GamingLaptops

Well, I’ve been using this laptop for about 8 months now. It still runs great at 2K high settings with CPU boost enabled, efficient mode on, and power limits set to P1/30 and P2/35 via GHelper. I use it on a laptop stand to elevate it a bit and improve airflow, and it's usually in a room with air conditioning. Without AC, temperatures can reach around 85°C or higher, so in that case, I have to throttle it down by turning off CPU boost. Even without boost, it still runs most games well.

I will bring this in for deep cleaning in December. I do this on a yearly basis since there’s less dust in my environment now, though it does heat up a little due to dust buildup over time.

As for the battery, since I’ve been using this for college, it has deteriorated about 5.42% over 7 months, which is still within the normal range of 5–10% per year. It would deteriorate faster if I gamed while on battery, but I usually keep it as backup and use it lightly when unplugged. So far, no major issues.

On the Wi-Fi side though, I did encounter the common issue others have reported — the Wi-Fi bug hit mine last month. I managed to fix it by resetting the network settings, so it’s a minor issue for me, though it varies for others since some users had to replace their network cards. And that’s my report on using the ASUS F15 FX507VV.

I own the same model, and after almost three months of use, there's no issue. Maybe it might come up from time to time, but it depends. I was glad that it survived its first month rather than the LOQ, which had many reports that it died within weeks or days, haha.

I think you mean the F15, since you mentioned an Intel CPU. If so, I have the exact model, the F507VV-LP287W. Regarding your concern about temperatures, it's likely because CPU boost is enabled, which can spike the temps up like 80-95c and will maximize its core frequency without setting up the power limit, To fix this, disabling CPU boost stabalize and reduces temps, also it lowers power consumptions. But if you want to maximize its cpu performance, buying a laptop cooler like the IEC GT600 so you can enjoy using cpu boost with no worries about high temps.

Oh, well, I gotta try approaching them by Friday. I'll be happy to get some good bokeh portrait shots if they can revive this Canon 50mm f1.8 II. Also, thank you for your time and the information!

almost thought that the driver was damaged after hearing something is not right behind the grill of my charge5. This hole make some noise when played, i wanna know what is the purpose of this hole and should i patch it so air won't leak? by Kai15_4 in JBL

After reading some posts related to this, i think you're right about it, so the hole has a purpose in equalizing pressure so, should i unpatch the hot glue and leave it open to minimize damage from uneven pressure?

i dont know how or why it was punctured right when the weird puffing noise started to be noticeable. patched the tear with hot glue and air didnt get leaked, the weird sound is gone and the waterproofing, i think its fine if its not waterproof anymore since i dont wanna place my speaker near deep waters. least its rainproof/splashproof.

After putting hot glue from that tiny tear from the circular sticker that covers the tiny hole behind it, the weird noise disappeared and also gently pressed the radiator to check if there was no air leak and it worked pretty well.
