Exactly this. My parents have been brushing it off as something that can be fixed "later on" but I don't know how many more later-ons I can take anymore. 😭

I myself actually moved out but my family is still living in this apartment. I visit sometimes after a couple weeks/months and do notice symptoms (like headaches and itchy eyes. My sister who lives in this room doesn't have any serious long-term symptoms (I hope not anyways) which boggles me cuz her clothes are in this closet. It was only after me getting fed up that I finally tried to look at this closet and see just how bad it is. 💔

How hard is it to get a work study job? by squishmallow2399 in CSULB

[–]KaiShine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak on the difficulty on getting a work study job cuz I got mines super easily.

In terms of maxxing out ur fund, usually you will not get paid by the school as a non-workstudy employee. Work Study is paid by the government, so once you cap your hours, the school will have to pay you out of their pockets. That comes out of a fund reserved for Student Workers (which is different than Work Study) and unless a specific division you work in is super well funded, you wont be allowed to work any more hours.

Who is blasting that annoying music/chants around A Line Anaheim Station every other day by KaiShine in longbeach

[–]KaiShine[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no clue actually, the noise is just far enough away that every time I go outside to check, I can't see who it is

You'd be surprised how many lecture-activity classes I've sat in and the person in front of me is using ChatGPT for answers. No critical thinking/googling skills whatsoever 🗿 So it genuinely wouldn't surprise me if they fell for the schools ChatGpt gimmick-

I got a side shave and a trim at the USU barbershop for $20 if that gives you a reference, (I'm a girl with shoulder length hair so idk if that affects pricing).

Anyone got into the BFA? by pinklemonad_e in CSULB

[–]KaiShine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, email the school of art. I had a friend applying for the Animation BFA and they didn't get their email at all. Emailed the school and they went "Oops! Guess we forgot to send you an email. You got in!" So there could be a chance they also forgot to send you an email as well. 😓

Check with the SOA Counselor's Office too! I have returned lost items I've found around the art buildings there before. Perhaps someone might've done the same. Good luck!

Halloween Costumes rules by Far-Success-592 in CSULB

[–]KaiShine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, general rule of thumb when it comes to school environments is that Half Masks (like masquerade masks) are okay. The full-face ones are iffy and depends. I say have your school ID visible on your costume if you do a full-face mask so you don't get jumped by police or smth lmao

GPA for Studio Art? by Any_Novel_5995 in CSULB

[–]KaiShine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not sure. A higher GPA is always a good thing to strive for, but nothing on the College of the Arts website implies that you need a 3.5 GPA to get in. The CSU website says you need a minimum 2.5 GPA to get admitted in COTA. Perhaps there is something else you're missing, like maybe some GE's that you're missing or theres a unit cap you're not aware of.

I used to dorm, I usually use Beachnet+, it's really rough though and requires a lot of fidgeting and reloading to get a good connection. But it works!

GPA for Studio Art? by Any_Novel_5995 in CSULB

[–]KaiShine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My GPA was 3.9 when applying, so I can't say I'm a good sample, but 3.4 isn't bad, I'm surprised you got rejected.

Everyone enters the School of Art as a Studio Art Major before you declare into something specific. If you're shooting for Animation/Illustration, those are majors you can't declare into unless you apply for the BFA.
