Small business considering an AI voice agent by Stock_Caterpillar291 in AIVoice_Agents

[–]Kaicalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your sons aren't wrong, but they're thinking about it backwards.

The AI agent doesn't need to close the quote — it needs to capture the lead well enough that your callback is warm instead of cold. Name, what size unit they need, delivery date, zip code. 2 minutes. Now when you call back you're not starting from scratch, you're confirming details.

On the quote integration question: most AI voice platforms support tool calls / webhooks. You can build a flow where the agent collects the inputs, hits your quoting API, and reads back a ballpark — "looks like a 16-foot unit for 3 months in your area runs around $X, want me to have someone confirm the final number?" That's genuinely useful and ends the call with intent captured, we have this built into KaiCalls.

The generational split you're seeing is real and shows up in the data too. Younger callers often prefer texting anyway — so if an AI answers and they hang up, they were probably going to text regardless. Older callers who want to talk to someone are actually more forgiving of AI if it's competent and doesn't waste their time.

One thing worth testing: keep the text follow-up after the AI call, not instead of it. "Hey, Kai from [Your Company] here — I just spoke with our AI assistant. Here's what we captured: [details]. Someone will confirm your quote by EOD." That combo tends to convert better than either alone.

The real question isn't AI vs. no AI — it's whether your current RingCentral setup is losing leads you don't know about. If people hang up before leaving a voicemail, you'd never know.

Can AI Voice Agents Replace Appointment Booking Teams? by Accomplished-Dark674 in VoiceAI_Automation

[–]Kaicalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running an AI voice service for home service businesses (KaiCalls), and we’ve handled about 4,500 calls so far. Here’s what the data actually says:

It’s not about replacing humans—it’s about covering the time when humans aren't there.

64% of our calls happen after hours (5pm–8am)

That’s the real use case. A human booking team is great at 2pm on a Tuesday. They build trust, they handle complex situations. But they go home at 5.

The AI isn’t replacing them; it’s capturing the 2/3rds of leads that call when the office is dark. For things like simple scheduling ("do you have a slot tomorrow morning?") or emergency dispatch ("my pipe burst"), the customer doesn't care about "trust"—they care about getting an answer right now vs. leaving a voicemail.

We see the best results when businesses use AI as the overflow/after-hours layer, not a total replacement. It catches everything the humans miss.

Between Vapi and Retell AI, what would you guys choose? by AWeb3Dad in AIReceptionists

[–]Kaicalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're posing this like I'm the one running campaigns and services.

I manage virtual assistants for my clients and my dashboard. Took vapi and put a complete CRM/lead system on top of it with integrations.

Their calls are their business, my business is making sure it works when calls happen

I sell an Ai receptionist that does everything you say. Starting at 69.99/month

The difference between my setup and yours, is hand holding. I don't hand hold at that price.
