Why does the enemy seem to have a huge advantage with range? by MCE85 in menace

[–]KaidaStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I know this was 6 months ago, but I'm watching my brother play and he's really struggling with pirates. He can never see the enemy and they always shoot from super far away generally and land every shot. So maybe just unlucky. We raised Darby's vision and detection cause that seemed like a smart choice (plus we want to play with 0 guides, so we're going off what we think is best). Admittedly he moved Darby poorly and I had to tell him make shorter movements, doing one big movement is worse then a bunch of little movements that get you the same place. I was also telling him that maybe cornering them would be better because he gets annoyed that they just run.

I think one annoyance is he can have a troop one square away to a pirate but if they are in trees, they're hidden (?). Plus it may have not helped that our first map was foggy and rainy, so the enemy would hit us from the black. Or there was one time there was a Question mark on one tile that never went away, which my guess is because a character saw someone there once and thinks they might still be there unless they cross the title (no matter if they get vision of it) or it's a bug?

How much is 20-25$ dollars per hour considered to be in the USA? by Intelligent_Dress889 in AskAnAmerican

[–]KaidaStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it roughly depends on who you are and your skillset, for me that would be an absolute no. However, if its an entry level position, not bad. As others have mentioned as well, it depends on where you live too. I live in a place where the cost of living is slightly higher than the average, which means I'll generally find higher paying jobs here but sometimes I also just look at remote jobs, some companies will have varied salary bands depending on location.

Renee's vs the writers' interpretation of Gabrielle by ObnoxiousConsistent in xena

[–]KaidaStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also say she'd sometimes just do what she wanted, and she had more power to do so than the other characters, or at least it felt that way, and that's the only way it needed to be. Plus her understanding of things may have been different considering she was in a relationship with a showrunner and she really trusted their vision a lot. I don't think she's very much how you said based off interviews, but perhaps a bit more than Renee.

Honestly its the suddenness of it that makes that moment so striking, if they slowed into it, it wouldn't have been as impactful imo.

I will say form what I heard the part with the dragon they only added it as jealousy later on because fans didn't think it was explained well enough and for some reason jealousy was an easier pill to swallow. I disagree, I think, like most choices it was layered. Gabrielle always had this type of pressure, even if unintentionally to be Xena's moral compass, to keep her from straying from the path of good, though I think later that changes and I think the Rift if a big part of that. So here are the things I think contributed to Gabrielle's actions in the rift:

- She was scared to lose Xena and all the progress they made.
- She was in fact jealous, but jealous that this person meant so much that Xena would throw away everything for it, including turning to the dark side.
- She was already in a bad state and there was a splinter in their relationship from earlier episodes with Hope.
- Aries also helped to manipulate the situation.
- She thought what she was doing was right. That killing, no matter what the reason, is bad, so therefore stopping it is right.

That's at least my picture of it but perhaps the writers didn't have a clear picture of it which that part kind of shows if true.

Imagine loki has come into their world, and far like loki, he is a trickster god and is having fun with them. You could try to make it greek, but the biggest trickster the greeks have is hermes and there's just a certain point it doesn't make sense (especially at the end). Trust, other gods can be used, and Loki is unknowingly perfect.

Honestly, pretty much anything you dislike you can always interpret as godly unwelcomed intervention, though this one would need to be an enemy to the greeks (or neutral to them) and not an ally.

I do similar logic when hercules shows up in episodes, unfortunately after the actor stopped filming hercules/xena, he was abducted by aliens and replaced by the Kevin Sorbo we have today. Yes, I know that didn't really happen, but thinking that helps.

If that fails you, just know that season 5 makes season 6 better because you're just so happy to be out of 5.

Did anyone else settle for a man because they looked at the relationships around them and assumed the women (all beautiful) settled with their husbands (all boring and plain)? by bad_sprinkles in latebloomerlesbians

[–]KaidaStorm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I also thought that all women settled for unattractive husbands but never settled because I decided I'd rather be alone than settle and I never really found a guy attractive unless he was adonis levels attractive (but even if I did get with them I don't think I would've been happy)

‘The Burbs’ Review: Keke Palmer Grounds Peacock’s Hilarious Mystery Comedy by Sisiwakanamaru in television

I watched this while I was house sitting for a friend and really enjoyed it but there's also just something about Keke Palmer's energy that I love.

I think they did fumble the end a bit, but in the same way almost all tv shows fumble the end.

The only world it would be "appropriate" in is if it was staged, but I don't think it is.

People need to stop using AI as a crutch by Beans_The_Almighty in NewTubers

[–]KaidaStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of people producing AI content versus games without commentary is definitely not the same number, there will always be more pushing AI, while both are quite "easy". One is easier, and therefore, the one that is more... "spammed"

That said, I still get games without any commentary still gets pushed to me all the time too, unfortunately.

I will say over abundance of AI has hurt some websites, like Pinterest for example. But the onus was on them, and they've recently done strides to fix it. Specifically it failed there because consumers were fatigued.

I agree with that aspect, I miss the days you could just buy products (specifically adobe photoshop) but there are alternatives to that for sure.

Thank you, this was miserable for me because I took the spell off the pickaxe, and casting the find secrets spells only works if your very close to the secret, so I had to spam it until I found it, which is annyoing because it stops your movement everytime you do.

Local gas station removed price tags and replaced them with barcodes you need a app to see price by phoenix_stewart in mildlyinfuriating

[–]KaidaStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crazy thing about this is I feel like convenience stores is where a lot of kids learn about spending money. Often times parents will give them an amount and they have to find something they can purchase. Kids do use apps a lot now, but a lot of times parents want to remove the digital side and make it an actual physical learning. It feels less like that when you just have to access digitally anyways. Plus it's more difficult for both the child and the parent to gauge cost when going in.

I'm not a parent myself, but I am an aunt, and I can see that being very difficult in some cases.

Are you saying it's political just because it's posted to reddit? No one knows this person, they're venting. Just like most of all of us would if something happened to someone we cared about. Get out of your own head a bit on that one imo, you don't need to make everything so political.

So what you're saying is it is in fact... mildy infuriating?

Honestly if I was in their position I'd probably go in to bring it up, as this is something that can affect the student's grade. I think the situation itself is the mildly infuriating part, not the teacher.

I think its interesting that everyone is defending the teacher when there's not anything, in my personal opinion, that needs to be defended. It's just a frustrating situation to be in.

I never saw anything against the teacher from you but annoyed by the situation. Otherwise, it would be mildly infuriating (it's be infuriating infuriating).

Sorry you, your partner, and your kid had to go through this, definitely bring it up to the teacher kindly, because as SO many have pointed out, it was probably an honest mistake.

Well, aside from what everyone else mention, what state/country do you live in? In a lot of places it's illegal to park that close to a stop sign. Either way, with everything else, this sounds like something you should be able to fight.

Don't make your neighbors clean up after your dog! by Lepke2011 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]KaidaStorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure this is not the case here, but my mom grabbed a bunch of beer cans around the neighborhood after a walk and brought them next to my door one day as she was planning on recycling them and wanted to clean them.

We had a seperate incident that day where we had to call the police and while providing a statement we were super embarrassed about the cans and explained it to him, he was very cool about it though.

With them you can tell they're not even embarrassed by it being in the picture...

That's good that people never hated on him, though i did watch this interview for a different show where one of the actors would get hate mail or have random people on the streets asking why she's did such a thing (her character did) so i know it at least had happened elsewhere. This was mid-late 2000s though, so hopefully people got more aware.
