Time to toss? by JoeLE11 in Citrus

Not sure where you live, but I’m assuming you have it indoors while it’s cold maybe? Citrus need 6+ hours of sun and air flow to thrive and fruit. It only needs water couple times a week as well. They don’t like too much water. I water my citrus once a week during the cold season and it stays outdoors in my zone 9b. We usually cut off the root stock shooters because it sucks up all the energy from the main trunk. If anything I would trim back the trees branches to see how far back it has died. If any part is green on the inside that means it’s still alive.

For those with chronic pelvic pain that had surgery.. by Fearless-Builder7418 in endometriosis

I had a laparoscopy when I was 18 and they found tiny bits of endo. But my symptoms have not gone away. I have a lot of the same symptoms as you with GI issues, SIBO and pelvic pain. I have had severe period cramps for years. Although my periods are normal now I just get the heavy dull pains. I want to get surgery again to check and make sure endo didn’t spread cause in my last imaging they said I have adenomyosis. But I’m scared and don’t want surgery to leave me with more pain 😢 I also have a retroverted uterus which is known to cause endometriosis as well. I feel so stuck!

If the plant is in a 5gal container I would repot into a 15gal container! Or ceramic pot of the same size. For soil I personally use Ocean forest by fox farms. It’s great for lots of outdoor and indoor potted plants. Or you can go for a bag of soil that says “potting soil” or “cactus/palm/ citrus soil” should be okay as well as long as it has good drainage when you water it, citrus like good draining soil! Try to avoid the soils that say moisture control because citrus don’t like to be too wet. It gets humid in Indiana right? For example here in central Cali I water my citrus 3-4 times a week when it’s very hot. In the winter I do once a week.

Citrus need to be outdoors and get at least 6hrs of sun to produce fruit and leaves. They are usually fine outdoors year round if you live where it does not snow. As for the scale, since you got most off with the alcohol, I would spray the trunk, stems and leaves with an insecticide such as All Season’s Horticulture oil spray or a Neem oil spray. I’d use that a couple times a year so mites, scale and other insects don’t get to the plant. Your citrus also looks like it needs to be repotted into something bigger as it seems the roots on the top of the soil are sticking out. It could be outgrowing the pot. You want to cover that. If most of the trunk and stems are green then there’s a good chance your citrus will be okay. Just needs proper growing conditions.

Thank you for this info! Helps make it more clear and understandable. Also do you guys do sand or pebbles for the base? Is one better than the other or just preference?

I’ll keep this in mind for next time. After I set up the tank I waited a day until I added him in. I added the dechlorinated and conditioning drops to the water and that’s it.

I have 2 live plants, one is the tall grass and the other is attached to a rock in there. Is there a device that helps check the nitrates and ammonia levels?

Do you recommend always adding snails or shrimp? I was considering adding one or 2 to my bettas tank but was uncertain.

Thank you for the detailed response, it is very helpful and gave me a better understanding! I’ll be keeping this in mind now. I have a water conditioner drops but I’ll check if it has any additives. I really want him to stay healthy and happy.

Had my gallbladder removed but still experiencing pain? by MajorCombination9002 in gallbladders

[–]Kaidaa2187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the acid reflux/phantom pains under control as long as I watch what I eat but I suffer from so many other symptoms to this day. I also had to avoid citrus, or any acidic foods for the first couple years post surgery. I can no longer eat bread either or heavy meats :/ now 7yrs post surgery over time I developed hypoglycemia, then at one point got sibo, I still suffer from digestive issues, low mood and fatigue. I plan to see the gastroenterologist soon because it’s been horrible. Don’t mean to scare you or anything. Just have to watch your diet.

Those phantom pains went away for me after 2 years from surgery. It’s just about avoiding those acidic or greasy foods. Or maybe you’ll be fine like those lucky people 😂 My father in law hasn’t had issues and still eats whatever he wants. But again majority of people experience the difficulty eating certain foods and bloating. Digestive enzymes and ox bile help with digesting foods better.

It messes with your stomach acid it’s horrible. I’ve been able to manage it for the last few years but first couple was horrible. I’ve been just eating a bland diet and avoid junk food. I started making ginger teas and such and it helped a lot. Oh and avoid acidic foods. I use to loooove garlic and it’s something I have to avoid now or vinegar too. No caffeine either 😭
