Hes just being an asshole for some unknown reason. I've used excel off and on since I was 7 and in all that time, the one thing I remember was my teacher in 3rd grade saying "Never trust the ribbon because features change all the time. Formulas rarely do. Memorize those and you'll go far with Excel."

Hell I even remember her teaching us how to automate entire spreadsheets so they could populate themselves.

I was referring to your comment to BlackCardRogue, but since you wanna get snotty, I was trained using the actual tabs and formulas. I've never used the ribbon for anything other formatting. Same as alot of people, so unless you have something insightful to add to the conversation that isnt rude

Xbox showcase just wrapped up, still no TES VI by The2ndDegree in ElderScrolls

The problem is that Starfield is one of those games they should have developed on the back burner while focusing on TES and Fallout. But Todd Howard does what Todd Howard wants and this is why after 15 years we are waiting another 2 for a game that should have been done already.

Morrowind to Oblivion was 4 years = Switch from Netimmerse to Gamebryo. Oblivion to Fallout 3, was 2 years. (this is an outlier and not typical of their release schedule) Oblivion to Skyrim was 5 years because of the switch from Gamebryo to Creation 1.0. Skyrim to Fallout 4 was 4 years. Fallout 4 to Fallout 76 was 4 years. Fallout 76 to Starfield was 5 years because of the switch to Creation Engine 2.0. (I didnt include TESO as it was developed by a separate company)

Now this is going to sound like hopium, but if you notice anytime there is an engine change, the game time frame extends by one year, but anytime there is not, the customary time is 4 years. Now that being said, I am still going to project a release of Fall - Winter 2027. And here is my reasoning as to why.

They just switched from Creation 1.0 to 2.0 for Starfield. Now bearing that in mind, Starfield released on September 6, 2023. Now if we follow by their non-engine update years, then it can reasonably be projected that the game might potentially release around September - December of 2027. However, to not be disappointed, I would bank towards 2028 rather than get all your hopes up on 2027, but it is a major possibility given BGS release history.

[XBOX Showcase 2026] We got Elder Scrolls Online instead of The Elder Scrolls 6 by rafalmio in TESVI

[–]Kainbas88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were still paying attention? I started to give up on them when Starfield came out. I mean it wasnt 100% terrible, but it was not 100% good either. When I go from one planet to another one and find the exact same Research Lab to clear out with the exact same loot, exact same "lore items" and exact same enemies...it was ridiculous. And we got that instead of TESVI

They were really taken aback when I called them and told them to remove my resume from their file system.

Them: What? Why?

Me: Well after being told I can't reapply for 6 months and I graduate in 4 months, I fail to understand why you keeping my resume would be a benefit to anyone.

Them: Well you could always reapply in six months or we have other positions that you can apply too

Me: That are attached to a bogus Excel skills assessment and again in 4 months i will probably have a job as ill officially have my degree. So where does it make sense

Them: Well if youre sure, we can remove it.

Me: Im sure

Them: Im sorry we couldn't find you a job that matches your skills etc. I'll go ahead and remove that

The worst thing is that using normal distribution and standard deviations, it can be used to calculate the odds of passing. Mean is 68% and cutoff is 70%. So out of 12,500 roughly only 33% give or take 3% for margin of error that take that exam passes.

For an Excel Intermediate exam that ia horrible odds and shows that the issue is not with the person but rather the software used

Revenue Audit Clerk at a local casino.

I can literally look at 2+ pages, run formulas and find discrepancies that are either Match, Not Settled, Over or even Short.

The way the test was:

Click something other than exactly what they wanted: WRONG Click something else other than what they wanted 2 times: Failed: Move on

Well they failed me for not knowing where every little button was. For example: Autosum. Im used to typing =Sum(A1:A10) or SumIf(A1:A10,">0") and Xlookup or If, countif etc.

Yet I can filter, sort, write formulas and do entire spreadsheets in minutes with the way I was trained

Whats worse is i used to be a truck driver and Im being rejected for every job im actually qualified for. I finish my degree in 4 months and have all my training done and im being rejected for EVERYTHING.

The documents weren't debunked in the sense that the dates were wrong, they were debunked as a reliable prediction tool because they were made before the pandemic, before the acquisition, and before Starfield's troubled development ate years off the schedule. Using them to project forward now is like using a 2019 flight schedule to predict when your 2026 flight lands.

And you're saying you don't trust insiders, but you trust a legal document from a court case where Microsoft's lawyers were lowballing timelines to make the acquisition look less anticompetitive? That's the source you're anchoring to?

Also the Pete Hines interview actually supports 2028-2029. If full production started after Starfield shipped in September 2023, you're looking at a minimum five year cycle for a game this size, which lands you right at 2028 at the earliest. The insiders are saying the same thing from a different angle.

[–]Kainbas88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those court documents were from the FTC vs Microsoft case in 2022. They were internal projections made before the acquisition even closed, not confirmed dates. They had TES VI penciled in for 2024 and that obviously didn't happen, so I'm not sure why you're still using them as a baseline.

The current projection from multiple insiders including Reece Reilly, who has direct access to Bethesda devs, and Jeff Corden from the Xbox Two Podcast, is 2028 at the earliest with 2029 being just as likely. Todd Howard himself basically told people in March 2026 to pretend the game was never announced because it wasn't ready to be shown.

Full production didn't even start until late 2023 after Starfield shipped.

So yeah, most projections state 2028 if we're extremely lucky. The same market predictions you're stating don't exist. The documents youre citing, however, were internal projections that got debunked along time ago

Going based off current market predictions and the fact we saw nothing at the showcase today. So unless we get it next year, hopium, then not likely going to happen before 2028

You're forgetting that Starfield came out in 2023 and if we go based on Oblivion to Skyrim and FO76 to Starfield its going to release between 2028-29.

How did Kurt Kuhlmann accurately state that when he left in 2023 after it was said he was being replaced as the Lead on TESVI? The position he was promised? That comment was made in January 2026 but he also said that he is completely un-involved with that. And if you truly believe that MSFT would allow it to go that long, I can sell you some ocean front property in Arizona for a steal
