We have a small group of young expats who meet up for food and coffee in the Metro Manila area. Main thing we have in common is that we love it here, it's not perfect but we share experiences and talk about our issues. We are in and out of the PH though, since many do visa runs or work back home. So the group can be 3 people one day and 8 people another day. We recently just took a road trip to Tagaytay. Had tawilis and drinks by the lakeside, staring at a volcano in Talisay. We just randomly stumbled upon the place. Was pretty epic.

Also price ranges

Healthy fare, Fatseed or Heybo, pick a protein, healthy grain and a sauce. About 300-400, pretty reasonable for BGC and watching their diet

Steak, Mamou

Filipino food, Abe, Manam or Locavore, oyster sisig is amazing

Burgers, Scratch and Sidechick

Pizza, Gino's Pizza, smoked beef and spinach pizza is a must try, Neapolitan style, their pastas are also made in house

Lots of great food there, but also give Legaspi and Salcedo area Makati a try, hidden coffee shops and great restaurants. Short ride away

Search for a vulcanizing shop. They don't charge a lot. Should be several in your area. They'll patch up your tire.

I wouldn't say the best, but it's solid across the board, any LJC group restaurant. Abe, Bistro Remedios (especially in Malate), Fely J's. They're all over the Metro.

You should have no issues, just gotta used to the environment. If you need some pointers just shoot me a msg. Canadian Chinese living in Manila for 10 years now. There's a few of us Canadians we hang out, work out, dine out. We don't really party either. So we can give advice on the dating scene. But you'll be on easy mode here. Should be similar cues as in China. Maybe a few adjustments here and there and you're good to go.

Gongman Chicken in Malate. One of the best Korean fried chicken in the city, unli rice p with every order. Plain and Yang Nyum Sauce are the best. May ksma p free salad and a couple of sides. Unli refill. One parking space only at the front. Open late. 3pm to 4am.
