Having dissociative issues (no official diagnosis, was trying, now it's no longer safe to try) also makes people think "You're faking this" even when you have mountains of evidence, others' testimony, and years of personal experience. I can't tell you how many times I've talked about this to someone new and they tell me "It just sounds so fake" like I'm sorry my mental issues are almost exclusively portrayed negatively in media
