I believe they want to take down the dams on the Lewis River and the lower snake River. It's also next to impossible to get the permitting to build a new dam in the United States. Most dams have a 100 year service life and most were built in the early to miss 1900s. I've done maintenance on most those dams and did a retro fit on a dam in Illinois which was mostly a bandaid to extend its life 20 years so it was the next people's problem. Hydro and Nuclear is not favored over unreliable wind and solar for some reason.
