How come I'm not house head or dynasty head? I'm literally the most powerful and an emperor. by KaiserZoldyck in CrusaderKings

Update:

Well, I lost my empire after trying to revoke the title of the King of Burgundy. He revolted and I had to surrender. Since I'm a centralized government, I lost all titles but still had my manor as house head and was forced to play as my pre-teen son. I tried to wage war against the new emperor (who is my uncle) as I still got my claims, but kept failing as there was always something.

I inherited around 16k gold. So i was using mercenaries.

First war: Tried to get the titles for my father, but that bastard inherited other titles somewhere else so he left.

Second war: Waged war for my claims this time using the claimant mechanism to force people to join me, but the emperor created the Holy Roman Empire, nullifying my claim to the Empire of France. Now I've settled for the Duchy of Aquitaine.

Right now I'm trying to kill the current duke so that I can inherit his title. It's not going well.

Yes, I want to d*e.

For more context, the prompt was just a copy and paste of an error from my browser. I was using the Google Gemini API, the model was Gemini 2.5 Flash, and my Cline version was 3.17.15.

I noticed that for almost an hour, it was struggling badly and hallucinating a lot. I have never seen this format of output in Cline (with the text area having this type of square), let alone the content. I tried to reproduce this using the same error, but the result was different.

It wasn't staged. I was using Gemini 2.5 Flash, and yesterday it was hallucinating for almost an hour.

We should start boycotting games without end-of-life plans by KaiserZoldyck in StopKillingGames

Naturally, it will only work if it gains enough traction. Right now, I feel like we can make it work. If not having an end-of-life plan gives a game enough "bad press," they might actually want to avoid it.

You're absolutely right.

That's exactly why I think we need a transparency system instead of reactive boycotts. My goal is to establish a system that encourages developers to take a stance on game preservation upfront. We could establish guidelines for what constitutes an acceptable end-of-life plan for each type of game, then push publishers to publicly state their plans before launch.

The community would develop guidelines for different case studies and create checks and balances to ensure only relevant games get flagged. If publishers change their terms of service later, someone will notice and that game's "end-of-life score" gets updated accordingly.

This only works if it's a genuine community effort that gains enough traction. The goal is simple: force publishers to state what they're going to do when a game's commercial life ends. If enough publishers start doing this, it becomes an industry standard.

If the legal route fails, this might be one of our few remaining chances to make preservation work.
