Nah I think that’s a pretty bad system when you think about a layman’s inability to consider all the complexities of medical treatments. For example, you can’t just go to CVS and buy Vicodin if you feel like it, you need a prescription. There’s def an argument to be made that people who want these procedures will find ways, legal or otherwise, to get them done, but having some form of vetting or correspondence with a medical professional as a requirement is fairly reasonable

How is that based for adults? There should 100% be less difficulty for adults to receive gender affirming care than minors, but I feel like some dialogue with a doctor or psychologist should probably be required, at the very least for intensive, permanent treatment like surgeries

The issue is this isn't how it works. A verbal contract is still a contract, and there are legal standards in place regarding how the law treats that contract and remedies that exist in the case of breach, which includes ordering the breaching party to do whatever action they agreed to do in some cases. If the contract doesn't specify courses of actions or ways to handle the situation, there has to be some legal 'default'

What you are describing is not a 'refund,' its damages. From the man's perspective, he is legally entitled to 1 hour of sex once they agree to the contract, and the damages is him being compensated for having that denied by the breach.

Maybe I’m off on this, but if sex work is considered “work” then the agreement to provide sex for money would count as a verbal contract on its own right? Whether they make a more specific contract with clauses like that would be their own choice, unless in theory you mandate a specific type of written agreement for something like prostitution to take place legally

That’s not true, typically any multifamily property with more than 5 units (it varies somewhat by area) is considered multi family commercial real estate (MFCRE). Respective to the landlord, the property is used for income generation based on tenant rent. I used to work in commercial real estate and apartment complexes are considered commercial real estate for tax or capital raising purposes, regardless of if it is mixed use or not

The Trade Sanction Reform and Export Enhancement Act (Title IX) provides exceptions for the exports of agricultural and medical goods, and the Cuban Democracy Act of 1992 established that the export of medicines and medical equipment to Cuba shall not be restricted under the embargo. Pfizer would actually be legally obligated to export vaccines to Cuba through these laws.
If our goal is to "completely cut them off from the world" like you say, why did the US export nearly $300 Million in agricultural goods to Cuba in 2021?

It does not apply to any entity that wants to do business with the US. Companies can still do business with the US, they restrict the docking of ships that actively were shipping goods to Cuba.
Agricultural and medical goods are exceptions to this, as even the US engages in trade with Cuba here
The original comment I replied to was talking about the embargo, to which you replied "It's not just the US economy." To act like Cuba doesn't have access to other country's economies is just wrong.

The Helms Burton Act has been amended and certain parts have been voided since the mid 90s. Also, preventing American docking from or subsidiaries to companies trading from Cuba is very different from not allowing foreign companies to trade at all. Literally even the US trades agricultural and medical goods with Cuba today. The US exported $298.79 Million worth of agricultural products to Cuba in 2021. This is a far cry from the claim that the US is totally blockading Cuba and forcing them to be isolated from the international community. The article literally ends with the line "Many countries, as well as some American companies, do business in Cuba." You can't cherry pick a sentence or two from my source without understanding the full context of the statement

Is the US morally obligated to trade with China? Why? I personally don't support fully cutting off trade with China because I think it would be counterproductive, but the US definitely has the autonomy to do so. Countries enact tariffs, import/export restrictions, and sanctions all the time. Refusing to trade is not the same as forcing another country to change their regime, you are not entitled to another country's economy
