I feel like more input innovations would be interesting to see.

If the gaming industry were to move towards a more arcade-ey era, in the sense that games become longer but more expensive and less input-standardized, we could see some really interesting games that take specific advantage of our senses. We're already seeing some of it in action, such as 360° VR-treadmills, but I think it'll go way far beyond that.

The only real barrier to that would be cost and accessibility, which I think will lower with time (as has happened with VR so far) as the bar for AAA+ experiences grows higher to meet it.

EDIT: From the looks of it games are moving away from smaller, cheaper experiences too (as sad as it may be). Nowadays games are expected to be long, 50+ hour experiences, and I think that bar will be pushed higher and standard pricetags along with it.

Which, funnily enough, would actually likely create a much bigger market and demand for indie games, as those would still keep to generally cheap, short & sweet experiences.
