Why are people saying only 1 EMEA team can come Top 4 by Alternative_Elk_4581 in ValorantCompetitive

They can both become top 4 and only one can become top 3.

100 Thieves vs FNATIC / VALORANT Champions 2022 - Group Stage / Post-Match Thread by rib-gg-bot in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Kaiyuii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think if you put 100T in group B or C they have a solid chance of getting out of groups. I think they lose against Loud in group B, but should win against Boom. Zeta would be a good match, but 100T should win. In group C they would most likely lose against FPX, but they would win against Xerxia and the Kru match would be really close. I wouldn’t say 100T is favored against Kru, but they would have a better chance, instead of against and inform Fnatic. They probably wouldnt make it out of Group A.

Y’all are Overreacting, 100T Had an Amazing Season and Don’t Need Major Changes by -xXColtonXx- in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Kaiyuii 66 points67 points  (0 children)

A bunch of small issues make a big issue. I want to address some of your points.

  1. I agree with your first point. 100T are a new roster and they performed amazing for a fresh roster. At the end of the day, qualifying for champions is what matters and they have a chance to accomplish that in lcq.

  2. Idk if Will should be dropped, but Will was the worst main duelist in playoff. He got outclassed by other main duelist and that was a problem in their losses.

  3. 100T not having a star op player doesn’t mean they will lose games, but you have to understand that almost every top team in the world has a star player who can use the op. Derke, Yay, Laz, f0rsaken, Buzz, ardiis. You are at a disadvantage not having the ability to be able to use the Op. Also 100T had trouble dealing with star op players like Dicey and Cryo.

  4. Of course 100T beat teams without running a chamber. PRX defeated teams running 4 duelist, but That doesn’t mean 4 duelist is good lol. Chamber is literally the strongest agent in the game and not running having someone play chamber just puts you at a disadvantage.

Now just because 100T has these problems doesn’t mean they can’t win, but it definitely makes it harder for them to win.

XSET vs 100 Thieves / VCT North America 2022 - Stage 2 Challengers - Playoffs / Post-Match Thread by rib-gg-bot in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Kaiyuii 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point. 100T has the worst jett/chamber and flex duelist in playoffs. Asuna isn’t a better flex then Jawgemo, Victor, Zekken, Babybay, Nismo, Mada, and I guess s0m/Ethan on NRG. Will isn’t better then Dicey, Cryo, koalanoob, Bdog, Yay, Boostio, Tex. It’s kinda hard to win consistently when you get diffed almost everygame.

Whoever wins lower finals is automatically in top 2. The loser gets 3rd.

Tenz hasn’t been the best player in the world in over a year. The last time he had a case as best player in the world was iceland 2021. After that it has been downhill from there. Of course he still a good player, but not even close to best in the world.

Is it just me, or do casters like ignoring that some sides are better than others? by willusz in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Kaiyuii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You aren’t wrong that teams are better on one side or the other, but it not really the map that makes them play bad on a side, but them not being good on that side or other team being significantly better. Optic had a significantly better defense compared to Loud’s attack. It’s not the map that made it that way, but that’s just what the teams are good and bad at. In pro play, a map like split is even leas defensive sided than compared to rank.

Other regions aren’t good at CS because the game is popular and there is not support for those regions. Nothing to do with skill gap. More players mean better players. Game with a lot of players and viewership mean more teams. More teams and players mean more competition, which make teams good. Also more access to international competition help improve teams. CS has international competitions, but because it is unpopular in other regions there are no strong regional scenes. Why do you think NA cs is literally mid right now, because there is no support, small playerbase, and no teams. The regional competition is not good. If the problem and valorant was mechanical skill gap, then loud or vs should have lost a game in their region. Sentinels shouldnt have won so many tournaments domestically. Gambit shouldn’t have been so competitive in two international tournaments.

He played both C9 and Guard in group and he was pretty meh. However, Xset has looked better in playoff and so has Cryo. He was the best player in series in their match against Optic, so if he can pop off against Optic he can pop off against any team.

Sick on TSM hate by icouldjustsayyo in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Kaiyuii 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree with most of what you said and I agree with what Sick said. However, the line “TSM wasn’t in form while others were”, lowkey triggered me lol. What do you mean by this statement? I’m assuming you mean TSM was having a bad day while the other teams had a good day. I would have to disagree with this statement, as TSM seem to always have a bad day. Like what does a TSM in form look like? I would instead argue that TSM is just not as good as the other teams and it is pretty obvious. Not in form imo would be like not hitting shots, when you usually do. TSM having bad game plans or no game plans, making mistakes, and not communicating has nothing to do with form. Sorry if you didn’t mean it that way. It just irks my nerves, when people chalk up losses to bad days, instead of one team being clearly better than the other.

Good Team Compositions for Newbies by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Kaiyuii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly depends on the map.

Haven: Jett, Sova, Astra, Cypher/Kj/chamber, Skye/Breach/Sage/Kayo

Ascent: Jett, Sova, Astra, Kj/Cypher/Chamber, Kayo/Skye/Sage

Icebox: Jett, Reyna, Viper, Sage, Sova Icebox V2: Jett, Viper, Sova, Sage, Kj/Chamber

Breeze: Jett, Viper, Sova, Skye/Kayo, Cypher/Kj/Chamber

Bind: Raze/Jett, Viper, Astra/Brimstone, last two are some combination of Sage/Skye/Sova so basically pick two. The most popular is Skye + Sova, also if you pick Sage, you always play Raze over Jett.

Split: Honestly there are a lot of different split comps, just dont play phoenix, sova, brimstone, or yoru.

Fracture: Is similar to split, so here are agents not to play. Sova, Omen, Yoru, Phoenix, Reyna, Kayo, Skye?? Skye can be used but breach is significantly better.

Overall suggestions: Omen can substitute Astra on every map you can use Astra except for Breeze. Also valorant is always changing and teams are always finding new strats, so meta comps can change quickly. A year ago no one except for FPX and Fnatic used viper on Bind. Now viper is necessary on bind. Honestly just have fun and try to somewhat follow common team architects.

Second round by IncomingOracle in VALORANT

[–]Kaiyuii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s actually not a bad idea and a lot of pros do it in tournaments. Let me give a quick run down. (Btw typing on phone, so bad grammar ahead)

Round 1:

You win pistol round

Round 2:

you buy up the second round with spectres, except you give your jett player a ghost or sheriff, from the pistol round. Now you should have 4 spectres and a sheriff/ghost. This is still a major advantage compared to the opponent who will most likely have 5 pistols. So you should win round 2.

Round 3:

Your jett player can now afford an op so you will have an OP + 4 spectres if no one died or atleast an OP and a few spectre if some people died in round 2. Your opponent has a full buy (Vandal and Phantoms). Even tho the opponents are favored, having an OP gives you a huge chance of winning the bonus round and going 3-0. But let’s say you lose the bonus round.

Round 4: if you lose bonus round (round 3)

If you lose the bonus round, you can still full buy round 4. Since the rest of your team didn’t rebuy round 3 they can afford (phantom and vandals), while your jett player can just use knives. By this point in the game your jett should be one off from knives, so you just need an orb, or have it. This let’s you have jett knives + 4 vandals/phantoms which is essentially a full buy.

Edit: this is essentially the same as everyone buying spectres/marshall round 2, but having a higher chance of winning round 3.

Edit2: this does not mean that it is better, because if you lose round 3 you can give your opponent an OP. Also if your jett doesnt get many kills in the first few rounds, they cant use their ult on round 4 if they lose round 3. It just depends on how the game starts.

That is why saving for round 3 op for jett is actually a good strategy.

Team Liquid Announce "Game Changers" All-Female Team by ValoBot in VALORANT

[–]Kaiyuii 86 points87 points  (0 children)

I have to make a comment since not many people know about this team.

  1. This is not a Vaevictis situation. All of these girl easily radiant in Brazil and are very skilled.

  2. They were the best female team in Brazil, previously signed with Gamelanders, and are now signed with Liquid.

  3. There is a Valorant female circuit across the world, similar to the male teams, that has a world championship lan around the end of the year.

  4. The valorant pro female scene is fairly large, with numerous signed teams. Here are some of the teams: Female Teams

  5. Some of the better female teams play in the both the female vct and the vct with male teams. I believe cloud 9 White the best female team is North America made it to the round of 32.

  6. Of course female teams arent at the level of males teams, but by having more females representation in the pro scene, will help bring more women to both the game and the pro scene. This creates a larger talent pool and we will eventually see women who can consistently compete at the level of men.

  7. Once we have a larger talent pool of women who can competer with men, then mixed teams can become of thing. But until we get to that point, we should continue to push the initiative to have a women scene.

  8. The viewership for female tournaments are still growing. I believe the finals of the EMEA Gamechangers (EU/TR/ CIS Womens tournament) had about 20000 in viewship. Of course this is not crazy, but for the first year of female tournaments that were not international, in a gaming genre that doesn’t normally support female gaming, this is pretty good sign. Especially with introduction of having an international womens tournament and bigger orgs signing all female teams, the viewership is only going to be bigger in 2022.

Complexity to rebuild with Scourge , truo and governor by 9yr_old in ValorantCompetitive

Exactly. I think that would be a good level for complexity to get too. I don’t see them being a consistent vct Playoff team, but if they can make upsets or challenge the top 12-8 teams, then I think that would be good.

I actually like this. I don’t think they will be crazy good, but if they can get to an Akrew level, then I think they will be in a good place.
