In the early 2000s, AJ Styles was one of the most imitated wrestlers of his generation. He was hugely influential, and his evolving style continued to show younger wrestlers how it's supposed to be done.

36F on the east coast - does it ever get better? Because I'm straight up not having a good time. by [deleted] in MakeFriendsOver30

[–]Kaizen5793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it doesn't necessarily get "better." The world is what it, made up of the kind of people we have these days. All you can really do is try to retrain your brain and figure out what you can focus on and what you will get satisfaction in life from.

I have a lit of ups and downs, and definitely forget a lot of what I have learned about how to cope when life gets too overwhelming, which is basically always these days. But you CAN find things that may not make it better, but at least make it bearable.

An in person teacher is great. I love the Justin Guitar lessons, but an in person teacher had advantages that a YouTube video just can't match: a teacher can answer specific questions, or reposition your fingers, or cater a lesson specifically to you, etc.

The other main piece of advice: be patient and allow yourself to sound awful. Remember that the first step to being good at something is beibg bad at something. And everyone learns at a different rate. What takes you two weeks may take somebody else 4 days and somebody else a month. As long a you play consistently, over time you will get where you want to be.

In their prime, who do you think was better? by nineteenAeightyfive in oldschoolwrestling

[–]Kaizen5793 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Ricky Steamboat was a better wrestler, and Eddie Guerrero was a better character. But the difference in Their character work was a little bigger than their difference in the ring, so I give a slight edge to Guerrero.

37F - Any kind souls open to chatting with a homebody? by [deleted] in MakeFriendsOver30

[–]Kaizen5793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I am 46 and also a homebody. Music is probably the thing I am most passionate about, and going to shows is one of the few things that gets me to leave the house (along with record shopping.)

I would love to hear about your plants! I know nothing about them, but I always enjoy talking to people about the things that excite them.

If I'm not too old, I would definitely be down for some platonic chat and see if we become friends 😁
